The Sr. Project Manager, CDD PMO will join the Clinical Diagnostic Division Project Management Office to lead the implementation and the maintenance of the central Project Portfolio Management solution and to drive continuous improvement of the product development process framework. He/she will report to the Director CDD PMO and will assist CDD PMO, R&D and Business Unit leadership with the analytics needed to govern portfolio management and pipeline execution. He/she will lead change and coordinate cross-functional and cross-business unit initiatives to accelerate and harmonize the CDD product development phase-gate process.
What will you do?
Implement and maintain the central Project Portfolio Management solution:
Progressively implement different functionalities of the solution.
Perform day-to-day administration of the system, work with vendors as needed to maintain and upgrade the system.
Collaborate with content owners to ensure data are current and accurate.
Prepare and provide the necessary training for system users.
Partner across CDD’s Business Units with Portfolio and R&D Managers to coordinate portfolio management and pipeline execution governance:
Design, own, and provide recurring reports and dashboards.
Assist PMO and R&D leadership in coordinating Governance and Portfolio reviews.
Lead change and manage projects cross-functionally:
Lead the definition and implementation of product development process improvements across CDD’s Business Units, on schedule, on budget, and meeting expected scope and objectives.
Provide simple and systematic tools and best practices to the product development community.
Lead change across a multi-site and multi-business organization.
Leverage and promote Thermo Fisher Scientific’s PPI business system methodology in product development.
How will you get here?
Bachelor’s degree (B.S./B.A.) in life sciences, engineering, or related field or equivalent.
Several years of experience in project management or product development.
Familiarity with the In Vitro Diagnostics and their regulation is a plus.
Process orientation, analytical thinking, and attention to detail.
Initiative, self-motivated, result-oriented, with a passion for driving execution while seeing the big picture.
Superior organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and balance complex and routine work activities.
Demonstrated ability to lead, direct and manage cross-functional teams, influence and achieve results through others.
Advanced interpersonal and (English) communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work as a team player and team builder.
Advanced IT skills and experience in using MS Project or related software for Project Management.
