We are currently looking for a Senior Project Manager to join the team to lead, coordinate and manage large, complex and multi-stream projects, particularly large, automated laboratory EPC projects. The SPM is responsible for leading and managing the complete execution of a mining project including the planning, engineering, supply chain, manufacturing, installation and commissioning phases until handover. The role requires contractual and commercial acumen and the ability to liaise with project team members, customers and corporate stakeholders to ensure the commercial success of the project.
Lead and manage the project team and ensure that the project is delivered on time, to budget and to the required quality standard within agreed contract specifications
Managing, motivating and coordinating all team members and ensure all individuals are enabled to collectively perform and contribute to the success of the project
Manage all formal contract related documents, demonstrate strong understanding of commercial contracts, engineering standards, rules and regulations and ensure that these are strictly adhered to
Management of project schedules including full reporting on progress and performance to the project director- and to the client.
Interface to the customer and lead and manage an integrated global project team in order to secure the best possible performance
Provide support during the sales and proposal phases of new opportunities for major projects and acts as a bid manager if required
Mentors and coaches personnel to ensure continuous improvement of the organization
What you bring
Tertiary technical qualification and specific experience in Industrial Automation is essential
15+ years’ experience in International Project Management in the mining and/or construction industry
Demonstrated ability to lead and manage large complex EPC projects and programs as key customer interface
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Proven negotiation and influencing skills – both external and internal
Capability to lead and direct multi-disciplinary and culturally diverse teams
