SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:

Position will have responsibility for Quality Engineering activities to support ASIC design process, factory ramp into mass production, and continuous process improvement in manufacturing. This position supports the mobile consumer electronics industry (MCE-Mic). Under limited supervision, incumbent performs activities related to the design, manufacture, and reliability of the MEMS and ASIC contained in our Sisonic MEMS Microphones. Quality engineering work assignments are varied and require a results-driven approach. The candidate must be comfortable analyzing complex situations and then presenting results concisely, to all levels and manner of audiences. A strong engineering background is critical, and the ability to travel internationally is required.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Provide support to the MEMS and AISC development teams for new product design, change management and problem prevention/resolution.
  2. Facilitate FMEA process with design teams.
  3. Schedule and organize reliability testing for new products and changes to existing products. Assure that all customer requirements are incorporated into the evaluation process.
  4. Assure alignment of supplier process capability with development team’s technical roadmap.
  5. Recommend and drive improvements to next generation products during design cycle.
  6. Preparation of technical reports for internal customers and suppliers relating to product changes and/or improvements, and drive resolution of issues related to these
  7. Propagate the use of statistical techniques in design and manufacturing.
  8. Take initiative developing and leading cross functional teams to address critical product issues – with regards to both existing products and new product development.
  9. Drive continuous improvement and corrective action activities to improve the cost, delivery, and quality of products offered.
  10. Interact with functional groups at all levels (design, manufacturing, marketing, etc.), to address and resolve critical product and customer issues.
  11. Actively seek out and utilize technical expertise from within the company and from outside sources to assist in problem solving.

POSITION/TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:

• Successful candidate will possess Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering plus at least 5 years of experience in Quality Engineering with strong emphasis on product design cycle.

• Experience in a fast-paced, high volume manufacturing environment is preferred, ideally in a wafer fab.

• Excellent communications skills (oral and written) are required to effectively interact with suppliers and peers.

• Knowledge of Electronics and Electrical Components, Statistical Techniques, Design of Experiments, SPC and basic ISO9000 framework is required.

• Must be experienced in the use of Excel and Minitab (or equiv); Oracle experience a plus.

• Must possess excellent technical writing and project management skills with the ability to provide reports for direct customer consumption.

• International travel - approx. 25%.
