As a Senior Research Engineer you will work in a cross-functional team to improve Zalando’s Full Text Search. You will apply information retrieval algorithms and the latest developments in machine learning to deliver relevant search results to our 34 million monthly active users entering 10 million unique full text queries per month.

WHERE YOUR EXPERTISE IS NEEDED
Keep up to date with the state of the art in information retrieval, natural language processing and deep learning.
Build our query understanding and retrieval machine learning models and pipelines to create fantastic customer experiences.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Ph.D or MSc and previous working experience in a hands-on role (>2 years)
Applied and theoretical experience in state-of-the-art information retrieval as well as natural language processing
Experience programming in Python and an interest or experience in rolling out ML-based models in high-traffic production environments
Curiosity for difficult challenges, combined with a hands-on attitude that values to generate and explore ideas fast
