We are looking for an experienced Senior Revenue Accountant, reporting to the Head of Accounting, to become a key member of our accounting and finance team. This individual will help drive aspects related to our revenue recognition policies and procedures (from AR to Revenue consumption) keeping pace with the rapidly evolving products and go-to-market strategy of the Company.
The Senior Revenue Accountant will have ownership of the Jasmin Group’s revenue policies and systems, updating for changes in the business. The successful candidate will also be solution-oriented, having a knack for employing ‘outside-the-box’ thinking and will ensure accurate and timely revenue recognition while working cross-functionally to tackle any obstacles and challenges that may arise.
Task and Responsibilities
Manage and develop one Accounts Receivable Specialist.
Review customer contracts to ensure appropriate revenue recognition in accordance with relevant accounting literature and IFRS revenue recognition policies.
Proactively research and respond to revenue inquiries from various internal business groups related to new or non-standard contract terms, product/service offerings and marketing programs, as well as drive these matters to conclusion.
Lead and support system implementations and various automation projects around AR and revenue recognition.
Work closely with BI and IT systems teams to ensure billings and consumption are completed accurately and timely.
Work with external consultants to identify, test, and deploy new configurations within the Company’s revenue sub-ledger to automate transactional revenue recognition.
Implement robust testing standards and lead effective testing for all changes to systems that impact the revenue accounting process – work with technical accounting team on internal control framework.
Work with technical accounting team to document revenue recognition policy updates and other related matters.
Coordinate and align internal partners to ensure accuracy and quality of all data and information throughout the revenue cycle.
Prepare materials for review with stakeholders and senior accounting leadership – including liaising with finance department.
Support external audit and review by compiling revenue audit requests and responding to auditor inquiries as they relate to revenue accounting policies.
Facilitate and support internal control compliance.
Participate in other projects as required.
Requirements and Essential Knowledge
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related – Master’s degree a plus
Qualified accountant (CPA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA, etc.) in current standing
5 to 7 years of progressive experience – industry experience (Live-streaming, Telecom, Payment Service) preferred
Excellent computer skills and solid understanding of accounting software principles
Fluent in English, any other languages are an asset
International experience a plus
Understanding of large-scale data mining and project reporting tools (SQL, Tableau, Jira) is a plus
Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 ERP is a plus
Experience in developing and implementing scalable accounting systems and/or process automation
Possess strong understanding of application of revenue accounting standard (IFRS preferred)
