Motius is a research and development company with a unique organizational structure: we combine a solid core team (approximately 70 employees) with an interdisciplinary tech community (approximately 800 members) of software developers, engineers, designers and electrical engineers to build products and prototypes the latest technology areas (including App/Web, A.I., Blockchain, AR / VR and much more).
In this role, you'll not only build exciting and complex web applications, but also will help our cluster and the company to become a better software company constantly, e.g. by creating reusable components and assets or by coaching and mentoring younger engineers during their career development.
Motius has a decentralized structure in which promotions, performance evaluation, and personal development happen in half-yearly peer reviews with your colleagues and so called committees that consist of experienced engineers.

If you ask the colleagues around here, attributes being mentioned are mostly: a friendly, open-minded, and collaborative environment. People help each other, go have (remote) lunch together, and laugh and chat in the kitchen area or at one of our remote team building events. People here are curious, positive, and self-ironic. Most of them are interested in sports, tech topics (e.g. trends), and games.

Project management at Motius
Here at Motius we follow an agile approach to project management that enables us to deliver value to our customers in short intervals but more regularly. This approach allows us to evaluate results and requirements continuosly, enabling us to respond to change quickly.
Perks and Benefits
At Motius we invest 10% of our work time for learning and exploring new technologies, we call this time ELU. It's basically a company internal hackathon for creating prototypes and improving your skillset. On top every permanent core member has a personal development budget and time to participate in congresses, fairs or to complete certificates and degrees.
Your career development is very important for us, so therefore we have a transparent and decentral promotion and performance process at which you'll get professional detailed feedback twice a year.
The highlight every year is the famous Motius surprise trip. We've already been to Muscat, Stockholm, Riga and Venice.
Our headquarter is located in Munich, we also have offices in Stuttgart and Dubai. We normally don't have fixed desks at Motius but due to Covid-19, everyone has a fixed desk and/or is working from home. Rooms and areas have certain rules and furniture and therefore offer everybody to find a place where they can be productive, e.g. in areas with standing desks, couches, meeting rooms, workshop, or in an open space. We offer you fresh fruits, coffee and cool drinks. But, remember to always lock your screen: if not, you'll probably volunteer to bring a cake or muffins to the office.
How we deal with Covid-19
To make sure we all stay safe and healthy, we have special office rules since March. We encourage our Motees to do Home Office on a voluntary basis and also provide you with a desktop, chair, table and more stuff you need for the perfect home office set-up. But if you feel too socially distanced, you can also come to the office to your fixed desk. Meetings in person are allowed if you stick to the offical distance rules.
First interviews will be remote, most of the technical interviews as well. For Experience Days, we will invite you to our office but stick to distance rules.
