POSITION OVERVIEW:

Under the supervision of the Director, IT Operations, the Senior Developer works in a matrix structure; either in development mode (DDC) or in project mode. The successful candidate will be a part of the ServiceNow Canada ITSM evolution team. They will produce, test, and implement requests within a development cycle, according to specifications established by the Senior Analyst. They will recommend technical solutions specific to the ServiceNow platform to meet business requirements. The incumbent must master the different aspects of ServiceNow, from integration to the different functionalities included in the solution. They will follow the established standards and correct market practices, within the limits of tolerated personalization. They will also support ServiceNow users and investigate problems when necessary.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Code according to the specifications of the analysis document
  • Draft or take part in writing analyses, as needed
  • Perform unit and regression tests
  • Take part in drafting and executing integrated system test scenarios
  • Occasionally draft functional and technical documents
  • Participate in rollouts within the test and production environment
  • Follow up on user tests during the post-implementation period
  • Participate in the training of higher-level support staff
  • Maintain application procedures and documents
  • Follow the methodology and standards of the Project Management Office
  • Make recommendations that take into consideration the business requirements and the architecture of solutions in place, as well as their impact on processes.
  • Assist the Analyst in the detailed definition of specifications

REQUIREMENTS:

  • University or college degree in computer science or equivalent
  • 4+ years of development experience in the Service Now platform
  • Background in implementing integration between ServiceNow and other systems (REST, SOAP, JSON)
  • Experience implementing Service Now in a corporate environment
  • Ability to program in HTML, AJAX, JAVASCRIPT
  • Ability to configure reports, notifications, home pages and dashboards, forms, etc.
  • Experience with IT ticketing systems
  • Strong analytical and summarizing skills
  • Leadership and team spirit
  • Experience implementing processes, tools related to ticketing systems, and IT department catalogues
  • Excellent knowledge of ITIL processes (certification an asset)
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage numerous priorities
  • Ability to adapt easily to change
  • Ability to handle several interventions simultaneously
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Ability to share knowledge and expertise in readily understandable terms
  • Ability to operate within short deadlines and constraints
  • Organizational skills and service-based approach, paired with a concern for quality
  • Ability to skillfully lead meetings
  • Autonomy and sense of initiative
  • Ability to learn new systems independently
  • Proficiency in English (spoken and written)
  • Proficiency in French (an asset)
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite
