Enterprise data is often siloed in applications which doesn’t allow customers or software vendor to harness its full value.

As leading cloud software company, SAP is in a unique position as the LoB cloud applications contain an immense treasure of data. However, it is not easy to leverage this asset to harvest its valuable insights. This is caused by the complexity and isolation of the individual systems.

SAP’s data plane will break those silos to provide an integrated view and enable cross-application intelligence. It will provide a unified data management layer to connect, discover, orchestrate, and manage both internal and external data assets. The data plane will enable analytical and intelligent capabilities across the SAP Intelligent Enterprise by providing actionable insights within business processes.

The data plane will comprise a set of automated services to provide and consume data assets holistically:

• SAP HANA Cloud & HANA Data Lake as storage layer ( ONE Data Lake)
• SAP Data Intelligence for data ingestion and connectivity
• SAP Data Warehouse Cloud as cross-application semantic business layer
• SAP Analytics Cloud (incl. BI & Planning)

The realization of the data plane will be driven as SAP wide cross-development initiative, whereby the program management, core development as well as product management will be led by the HANA & Analytics – Data Management & Platform organization.

Our development teams are mainly located in Walldorf, Germany; Palo Alto/La Crosse, US; Istanbul, Turkey; Brazil, China, India, and others.

The Role

We are in search of a very versatile person who likes to drive our quality management activities forward. A combination of different skills will be important – organizational, technical and people-related skills are needed.

The Quality Expert / Senior Specialist (f/m/d) performs quality management tasks and takes on responsibility for important quality-related aspects:

Technical

• Plans, follows-up on, executes, and reviews QA activities, in scope of new feature development (functional and non-functional) as well as for fixing or refactoring code
• Reviews and discusses bugs (internally and from customer side) and prioritizes/approves them
• (Re-)designs, reviews, implements and maintains new and existing QA solutions
• Performs manual and automated regression testing and result analysis

Project Management

• Reports quality status of important projects and components (project progress, milestones, goals reached…)
• Pulls together people to drive quality topics which require input from multiple areas of the organization
• Drives selected quality projects with high impact and visibility within the cluster and beyond

Administrative

• Supports the head of Quality with day-to-day business (including meetings, creating dashboards and charts, tracking KPIs, setting up quality-related projects and task forces)
• Implements quality-related procedures throughout the cluster

Communications

• Plans and executes quality-related meetings
• Drafts quality-related presentations for the head of Quality

EXPERIENCE / ROLE REQUIREMENTS

Required Skills

• Degree in information technology, computer science or other equivalent technical field
• Excellent spoken and written communication skills in English and German
• SAP technology experience (ideally from a former role in consulting, development or product management) in areas like analytics, cloud computing, data management
• Using Powerpoint to create presentations

Preferred Skills

• Strong understanding of the challenges arising from distributed scalable environments and microservice architectures
• Understanding of cloud technologies and relevant procotols/paradigms, ReST, HTTP
• Fluent in at least one scripting language, python being preferred
• Excellent problem-solving, organizational and analytical skills
• Very good project management skills
• Team player with ability to engage with different cultures and people

Work Experience

• 8-10 years relevant experience in software quality assurance
• Experience with non-functional (e.g. stability, availability, performance) testing
