Senior Technical Consultant - Application Development

The Red Hat Consulting team is looking for a Senior Technical Consultant with significant experience in JEE and modern application design to join us in Bangalore, Delhi, or Mumbai, India. In this role, you will use our unique middleware applications capabilities for DevOps, continuous integration (CI) and continuous development (CD), containers, and cloud-based projects. You'll help make our solutions both practical and workable for the businesses of our customers. As a Senior Technical Consultant, you will lead the on-site design and implementation of Red Hat’s solutions based on Red Hat OpenShift and Red Hat Middleware. You’ll work to gain an understanding of the infrastructure and business needs of our customers, make recommendations that address their challenges, and help them make strategic decisions for the adoption of Red Hat’s technologies. You'll then build enterprise applications and capabilities around cloud technologies to streamline development and allow for continuous feature release of applications. • Participate in practical enablement sessions to be quickly brought up to speed on delivering mission-critical applications to our customers using Red Hat 3Scale API Management, ActiveMQ, Kafka, WildFly, Camel, container, microservices, polyglot languages, and frameworks and design thinking approaches
• Mentor customers and deliver end-to-end cloud-native software development techniques in fast-paced, mission-critical environments
• Become highly proficient in developing applications for the Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform that use capabilities like service mesh and serverless architectures
• Use design thinking techniques to manage customer-facing problem-solving exercises to handle tough problems in an innovative way
• Constantly learn about new technologies and apply these concepts to customer needs; present to internal Red Hat’s team members and external audiences at technical conferences
• Become a trusted adviser to our customers, helping them achieve business success in an ever-changing technology landscape
• Work closely with product business, product engineering, support, and sales teams to ensure excellent customer experience with Red Hat's offerings
• Contribute to the development of repeatable methodologies and tools designed to scale Red Hat's services capabilities, promote repeatable customer engagements, and lower delivery risk

• 8+ years of experience with and advanced knowledge of middleware technologies, including enterprise web or middleware development project experience with application integration, data integration, business rules management, or business process automation; experience with Red Hat OpenShift, Kubernetes, and Docker
• 6+ years of experience working directly with enterprise stakeholders and architects on a range of development and deployment projects
• Consulting and people skills
• Experience providing technical leadership to a small team
• Experience defining solutions architectures and designing, implementing, and troubleshooting large-scale workable solutions
• Knowledge of software development methodologies, object-oriented design, and development principles, including enterprise integration and software design patterns
• Understanding of Java frameworks or libraries like Spring, Hibernate, or Struts
• Knowledge of DevOps or continuous integration (CI) and continuous development (CD) technologies like Apache Maven, Jenkins, and Bamboo
• Understanding of automation and scripting tools like Puppet or Red Hat Ansible Automation
• Willingness to travel 50% to customer locations throughout India
