Senior Technical Product Manager - Personalization Data Platform

The Personalization Data Platform team makes it easy for teams across the Indeed ecosystem to personalize user experiences by:

  • Ingesting vast quantities of data from a multitude sources in both realtime and offline,
  • Transform those data to build rich features of users via machine learning and other means,
  • Generating authoritative and comprehensive views of jobs, job seekers, and employers that are used by a variety of clients, a​​nd
  • Evolving the platform to empower engineers, data scientists, and others across Indeed to contribute to our mission.

As a Senior Technical Product Manager in the team, you will own the product vision for data personalization platform and execute against that vision to drive impactful improvements to Indeed’s entire job search ecosystem.

Responsibilities:

  • Driving the definition of long term objectives (2~5 years product vision), mid-term goals (OKRs), and day-to-day operations (agile processes).
  • Partnering with your engineer manager to lead a team of site reliability and software engineers to deliver iterative and measurable platform improvements to the rest of Indeed.
  • Closely collaborating with teams contributing to the job search ecosystem (job and company data pipeline, job indexing, relevance, monetization, taxonomy, etc.), across all functions (software, site reliability and machine learning engineers, product managers, data and product scientists, etc.).
  • Identifying new product opportunities and developing strategies to assess them.
  • Leveraging data to drive your decision making and influencing others to do the same.

You’ve got a technical background, you understand how software development teams work, and how engineers think. You think deeply about the needs of users and care about the developer experience of the teams building products on top of your platforms. Most of all, you love solving hard technical challenges to make a difference in the lives of other people, whether they be job seekers, employers, or fellow Indeedians.

  • Over 5 years of technical product management experience focused on building data intensive applications such as machine learning model data pipelines and platforms, event streaming pipelines, or distributed data systems.
  • Prior experience developing a vision for your team that is aligned with business goals and defining effective goals for your product to measure progress toward that vision.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Electrical Engineering or a closely related field, or equivalent experience is ideal.
  • Outstanding data analysis and data-driven decision making skills. A/B testing experience is nice to have.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Experience managing a machine learning platform is a big plus.
