ServiceNow CMDB Developer - IT Business Management (ITBM)

As a ServiceNow CMDB Developer, you will be responsible for developing and enhancing features for EA IT's CMDB and supporting current and future objectives. Design, develop, test, and maintain CIs in the system; build and maintain application maps in-line with latest Common Service Data Model (CSDM). Candidate will coordinate with other IT teams in accomplishing tasks and not limited to; troubleshooting discovery issues, document and implement best practice solutions with minimal performance impact. Must have experience with CI de-duplication/reconciliation processes and understand the core ServiceNow ITSM and ITBM processes, be familiar with the foundations of ITIL. Possess extensive knowledge of a wide variety of systems and networks to include high volume/high availability systems.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Manage data with tables in the CMDB and its Data Sources.
Maintain application maps updated and accurate with the latest service topology information
Configure efficient Identification, Reconciliation and Precedence Rules.
Monitor CMDB health and resolve conflicts between authoritative data sources.
Analyze functional, technical, and business requirements and turning it into a successful implementation
Define and maintain standard CI's, CI relationships, and CMDB Classification with relevance to the business needs.
Designs, develops, enhances, debugs and implements application maps using service mapping .
Provide expertise and support in Change management and Configuration management
Configure, monitor and troubleshoot discovery scans and service mapping.
MID Server configurations for Integrations & data pull.
Customizes ServiceNow configuration, including custom scripts
Configure access restriction on Tables and fields, based user groups.
Design and build custom script include AJAX script, server scripts and API's.
Support Discovery efforts leveraging CMDB.
Working knowledge of ServiceNow components like Business Rules, Client Scripting, UI Policies, ACLs, CSS, Properties, UI pages, Workflows, Contexts etc
Develop Client scripts, Business Rules, Web Service Import sets, Transform Maps & scripted web services.
Bachelor or master's degree in technology or Computer Science from reputed institutions
4+ years of ITSM experience as software engineer and development.
Minimum of 3 years of experience with ServiceNow CMDB, discovery, service mapping and integration with other external modules.
Must have understanding of CMDB architecture in ServiceNow, including different CI classes
Demonstrated experience programming and administering Service-Now in a large enterprise environment
Solid developer experience independent of the ServiceNow platform, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Solid skills using the ServiceNow platform: developing APIs via script including a competency of client and server APIs, Service Portal work leveraging Angular, mobile, integration hub, etc.
Familiar with Service Oriented architecture and web services integration (SOAP, WSDL, REST)
ServiceNow Certified Application Developer or Administrator
Strong Experience working in Agile development methodologies
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience working in a distributed global team
Flexible to work during or overlapping North American time zones
BS or other related I.T Degree in equivalent qualification or 4+ years of industry experience in systems engineering with a specialization around on-premise, virtualization and cloud-based architectures
