The company: our customer is a German multinational Corporation that operates all over the world since more than 65 years and is one of the leading providers of Logistics industry. More than 18,000 employees and around 4.000 M€ revenue. They will hire the selected candidate as an internal and permanent employee of them, based in Madrid, but providing services to their global organization.

Personal Skills Requirements and Job Conditions

Job location: Madrid. European Union citizen otherwise valid job permit mandatory. At least one day per week remote work allowed.

Expected travel: Very limited, just a 1-2 days trip every 3 months or so, only during the weekdays, to the
global headquarters in Hamburg (Germany).

Education and Training:
• University Degree/Bachelors’ Degree in Business information technology, Computer Sciences, Maths or similar.
• Certifications: ITIL Foundation and Project Management (PRINCE2…) are recommended.
 

Languages:
• Spanish: Native language, otherwise business fluent.
English: Very good Business English required (excellent communication skills). B2/C1 level.
• German: Very valuable for the position (at least at a basic level of understanding).
 

Organizational position: Reporting to the Team Leader IT & Enterprise Service Management (located in
Hamburg).
 

Employment Type: Permanent Full Time, as internal employee.
 

Salary: Depending on experience.

Description of the position:
 

To foster our growth at our research and development site in the city centre of Madrid, we are seeking a
passionate Monitoring Service Manager on professional level to join our Service Management operations
team in a permanent, full-time position.
 

Key Responsibilities and tasks:


• Responsibility for the operation and management of the service on a day-to-day basis
• Technical and professional lead for all service team members.
• Design and implementation of a technical and functional realignment of the service and used software components.
• Dealing with the service customers (Service Owners and Service Managers in the whole corporation IT-Organization) and translation of their requirements into technical solutions.
• Leading of several projects in the context of systems monitoring.
 

Working Experience:


More than 5-6 years of experience in Systems Monitoring, and at least 3 years as Service Manager or IT Project Manager.
 

Professional skills:
 

Mandatory skills:


• Extensive experience as a service manager or IT project manager in the operation, further development or introduction of a systems monitoring service.
• Good knowledge and experience with the products ZABBIX / ZIS or a comparable solution for (agent-based) system monitoring.
• Knowledge in monitoring AZURE/AWS cloud environments very valuable.
 

Additional valuable skills:


• Knowledge in programming and scripting languages valuable (Python, Powershell, BASH…).
• Some knowledge about SPLUNK valuable.
• Ansible automation tool knowledge also valuable.
• Valuemation ITSM tool experience usage valuable.
 

Personal skills:


• High level of methodological competence, analytical view, self-initiative and result-oriented way of working with the willingness for permanent further education.
• Strong communication skills, customer oriented and team player.
• Client focused.
• Capable of working under pressure.
• Ability to travel if needed.
