About Railsbank

Railsbank is the world’s leading global open banking platform that gives customers “access to global financial services” with 5 lines of code.

The company was founded by serial finTech entrepreneurs who previously founded successful and award winning companies like Evolution and Currency Cloud.

Since starting in 2016 in London the company has expanded across Europe, launched in Singapore and is currently extending capabilities in SE Asia, USA and Australia.

We are now scaling the company across Europe and SE Asia and looking for exceptional people who share the same core values to join team Railsbank.

The role

We are building out our SRE team, to help us grow and as part of a culture of continual improvement, delivering an excellent service for our customers, who rely on our tech to run their businesses.

The role will be a part of the round-the-clock rota (roster) based team, reporting to the Head of Platform Operations.

This team will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing our platform.

In this role, you might be tasked with:

  • Building and maintaining tooling to improve automations — especially repetitive/routine tasks. Some examples might be how we respond to degraded performance, possible outages, capacity planning, and AWS fleet management
  • Troubleshooting our platform — some APIs, some integrations, partner system issues, across multiple geographies
  • Collaboration with our Software Engineering squads and guilds, as well as DevOps team
  • Help us look to the future!
  • Identify — and contribute to — solutions for reducing services outages, reducing alert noise
  • Improving our observation tools and monitoring
  • Participate in a on-call rotation

Currently our stack is AWS based, using about 50 services.

Railsbank is growing very rapidly, but remains a small company in which staff are required to contribute to many aspects of their departments’ roles in the wider business. The rate of change is very fast, and the role may also require work being undertaken, sometimes at short notice.
