Dematic is looking for a talented Software Engineer for Development and Customer Service, to be hired with a permanent contract.
The candidate will work on our Customer Plant as resident SW Engineer in the area of Padova, Marostica, Monselice and Bologna.
He/She will work with an international Software Team in order to provide enterprise-level assistance to our customers and develop applications for automated warehouses management based on our proprietary frameworks.
Your challenge in the short term:
2nd line support to our customers
Analyze and solve problems on applications on production site or remotely
Troubleshoot Java, JEE and C# code, identify bugs and prepare software patches
Pro-active maintenance of the current installations
Development of change requests
Perform software upgrades
Help the customers with server and database upgrades
Investigate performance issues
Deliver detailed reports of each intervention and add to our knowledge base
Be part of the 24/7 support team
Interact with the other service teams in Dematic
Your challenge in the medium term:
Commissioning and testing the new systems, both in-house and at the customer sites
Demonstrating and applying the acquired knowledge in order to become the focal point for our technologies
The Field Service Technician is going to:
Complete the scheduled, not scheduled and retrofit maintenance and services
Work out improvement solutions to make up for the obsolescence of control systems
Problem solver for all the operations on the different plants and solving unexpected malfunctions
Assemble, test and start up new automated warehouse
Interact continuously with customers and colleagues on the work site
Write up periodical reports about the service activities
Who we are looking for?
A senior candidate with the following features:
Curious towards the sector of logistic supply chain and industrial automation
Passion for electrical, mechanical and software engineering
At least 5 years of experience as Technician in maintenance of highly automated production plants
Field experience in troubleshooting and integration of PLC functions (Siemens); inverter, scanner and field bus as ASI, Profibus and Profinet
Availability to frequent travels mainly in Italy
Availability to work on site as Resident SW Engineer
Availability to work on 2nd and 3rd shift
Technical diploma in Mechanical, Electrical or similar studies
Good knowledge of Italian and English written and spoken
