Department OverviewThe Software Engineer will provide the following services:• Take responsibility for application and systems support and ongoing customization for Motorola Solutions who will be providing a strong technical leadership to ensure software, systems and applications are developed and managed in accordance to best practices.• Integration of software applications with mobile networks,• Develop, deliver, deploy and monitor applications in Microsoft .NET, Java, JSON, XML, and REST API. Triage and investigate issues across various environments. Coach and support junior members in the team.• Support enhancements and new solution development including system design and development.• Work closely with the functional teams including 24x7 Customer Support Centre and technical interfaces from customers and key application sub-contractors to provide maximum exposure to operational issues and priorities.
Job Description

• Provide software coding services and support for key customer maintenance contracts and strategic application solutions.• Work closely with a support services team to ensure effective service delivery, as required.• Comply with Motorola Quality policies and practices.• Develop, maintain, document, configure, support and monitor production, deployment (CI/CD) and pre-production environments. • Manage day to day operations, system administration and maintenance tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the managed services projects.• Coach and support junior members in the team. Share knowledge within and across teams in the business. Interact and support a range of technical and non-technical stakeholder.• Develop and review technical documentations such as architecture documentation, design and functional specifications, both pre- and post-release, ensuring that the content is accurate and has all the necessary content.• Provide emergency support for critical issues that arise affecting the running of the systems and networks.• Perform assessments of existing network elements and implement design updates as required.• Proactively manage deadlines, meetings and communication streams.


Basic Requirements

Education & Qualifications Essential: • Degree in Computer Science or equivalent. Desirable: • Tertiary Qualifications in an Information Technology, Computer Science or related discipline.
Professional ExperienceEssential: • 5 years IT experience of designing and developing enterprise or small scale software project.• In depth knowledge and experience of the following domains or technologies: o Strong .NET development experience using (C# / NET 4.0), ASP.NET, WCF, WPF, XAML, and Windows Forms.o Experience with XML, XSL, XSLT and SOAP (Web Services).o Strong Java development experience using Spring, Hibernate, EJB, JSON, Apache Tomcato Strong Experience with SQL Servero Strong Object-oriented Analysis and Design• Good understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC).• Possess strong conceptual, analytical, and problem solving skills.• Experience with networking communications protocols such as TCPIP and UDP.Desirable: • Familiarity with Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems used in critical operational environments such as emergency services.• Familiarity with application design for target ecosystems such as Android or iOS• Exposure to wireless communications and field based computing and security.• Experience working on large complex systems and networks for government and enterprise.• Understanding of ITIL processes.
