R&D Software Engineer

Your challenge:

Dematic is looking for a talented R&D Software Engineer, to be hired with a permanent contract, for its premises in Milan. Within the R&D office, he/she will work in an international Mechatronic and Control team in order to develop products for supply chain.

The candidate will participate in developing and maintaining the SW for SC3 (Dematic Crossbelt sorter Click here!) following a R&D defined road map.

Responsibilities

The main activities are:

• Implement new control software functionalities for Sorter system
• Maintain the crossbelt kernel software
• Develop safety functionalities according to global and local safety rules
• Develop HMI applications
• Maintain and update configuration and utility tools
• Integrate software and configuration documentation
• Lead onsite commissioning activities in case of new features or crucial customization

Medium -Term Responsibilities are:

• Define with the product manager the Dematic crossbelt roadmap
• Settle documentation template to apply for Crossbelt projects
• Support internal&external customers in troubleshooting activities

Who are we looking for?
A candidate with the following features:

• Bachelor/Master degree in Electronic, Automation, Computer Science and Mathematics
• Good knowledge of Italian and English written and spoken
• 2-3 years ofexperience in “C/C++” programming preferably in the automation or industrial field
• Experience in Linux like operating system (preferred QNX)
• Knowledge on VB, C#, VB.net
• Knowledge in UML methodology
• Knowledge of serial and ethernet field-bus (Profibus, Profinet, ASi, Ethernet IP)
• Ability to understand and follow a project plan assuring to respect milestone dates.
• Availability to short travels
• Experience in Siemens and Rockwell PLCs will be a plus
• Experience in HMI/SCADA programming (WinCC, Iconics) will be a plus
• Basic experience with Agile methodology will be a plus
