Associate Specialist Solutions Architect - Middleware/AppDev

Be a key member of the Specialist Solutions Architecture team and present Red Hat Middleware Application Services solutions to new and existing customers. The Red Hat Sales team is looking for an Associate Specialist Solutions Architect with broad experience designing, developing, deploying, and supporting enterprise Java applications to join us in Mumbai, India. In this role, you will be a catalyst who creates possibilities, solves problems, and establishes working relationships with our customers. You'll listen to customers' technical challenges and suggest various solutions, understanding that "one size does not fit all". As an Application Services Specialist Solutions Architect, you will need a deep understanding of JEE, DevOps, API integration, process automation, and supporting application development technologies, with experience applying them to solve real world problems. You'll also need excellent communication and people skills, as you will be in front of customers on a daily basis on the phone, in web meetings, and in person and will sometimes travel to customer sites.

• Serve as a point of contact for customers and Red Hat teams to guide decisions toward open source solutions
• Collaborate with the business to evaluate goals, identify needs, and propose solutions using the whole portfolio of Red Hat's solutions
• Define overall solutions architecture and manage specifications and deployment strategy for open source solutions
• Serve as a trusted adviser for our customers and assist technology stakeholders in setting and delivering on expectations
• Maintain deep understanding of industry practices and competitive offerings through project experience and training
• Assist with the technical portions of requests for proposal (RFP) and requests for information (RFI) responses
• Help define the account strategy with the broader account teams
• Work cross-functionally with Red Hat's global teams to deliver on customer and account team expectations
• Create and demonstrate proofs of technology and proofs of concepts
• Evangelize Red Hat's solutions and provide relevant feedback to internal teams
• Represent Red Hat in multiple technology and business forums

• 3-5 years of experience as a presales engineer building and implementing middleware software solutions with customers.
• 3+ years of experience in JEE programming with application servers, e.g., Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Application Platform, process automation, API management and integration, Oracle WebLogic, and IBM WebSphere
• Deep understanding of and experience with standard and enterprise Java programming standards
• Good understanding of the development ecosystem, including build, development, and deployment tools like Maven, Git, and development IDEs
• Expertise in architectural best practices for medium and large deployments
• Good presentation and communication skills with the ability to develop and present to high level executives, including technical deep dives
• Technical leadership skills and the ability to articulate and compare alternative approaches and how the technical solutions will address customer needs and issues
• Experience with agile development, DevOps, and related toolset for rapid application development and deployment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Willingness to travel up to 50%
