Job Summary

PDI is currently looking for solution engineers in our LATAM region. Our solution engineers work with our clients/prospects and our sales team to understand their problems and how our solutions can help solve those problems (and make their business more efficient). Once we understand those opportunities, the solution engineer provides the software demonstration. This could include a high-level overview as well as very detailed demonstrations of our solution set. In addition, our solution engineering team works very closely with product management to bridge the gap between client needs and the sales team.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the sales team to perform pre-demo discovery with prospect/current customers on software and process needs
  • Prepare and deliver software presentations/demonstrations explaining the benefits of PDI products/services to customers and prospective customers
  • Provide sales support for software and industry-related questions that arise in the sales cycle
  • Document any software gaps found during the demonstration process
  • Partner with product management to assist in driving functionality needed in our solutions, based on industry and customer feedback
  • Answer requests for proposal (RFP) and requests for information (RFI)
  • Extensive knowledge of PDI solutions and industry
  • Contributes to the creation and maintenance of customer-facing product roadmaps
  • Performs work with a high degree of autonomy; will include travel (8-12 nights on average per month), as well as occasional evening/weekend work.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Petroleum Logistics/Petroleum ERP is a plus
  • Minimum of 2 years Software related experience
  • Requires strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate technical jargon into layman’s terms
  • Collaborative in nature with a strong desire to dig in and learn independently
  • Ability to facilitate/lead requirements gathering and design discussion meetings with customers and internal teams as needed.
  • Spanish proficiency required, Portuguese would be advantageous
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize issues in a fast-paced work environment
