Job Purpose:

This role will support the team focused on the three core growth-orientated objectives:

-To lead the sales function to originate, facilitate, execute and grow, the CPB Markets structured 'Solutions' business for Citi Private Banks Mega Wealth and Family Office clients, including sales of strategic equity solutions, commercial real estate, commodities financing opportunities and other complex structured lending provided out of Citi Global Markets trading books.

-To drive the growth of the Direct Private Investments Program.  This program enables Private Bank to refer to suitable clients to ICG Markets and the Investment Bank to participate in directly engaging in buying private placements of equity in companies with no publically traded securities.

-To sell and actively market, facilitate, execute and grow, the Markets Direct Access Program in conjunction with CPB and Markets business partners.  This program enables Citi Private Bank to refer appropriate clients to Markets for coverage by appropriate asset class professionals.  Qualifying clients in professional mega wealth and FO clients that can trade directly with the various desks in Markets.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the ongoing maintenance of the above mentioned programs, providing senior management with regular updates managing relationships with Credit, Risk, AML & KYC, and ensuring effective coverage across the various markets sales and trading desks.

Key Responsibilities:

Servicing a key and fast growing segment the stakeholder group for the role will be wide and diverse. An ability to drive a strong, collegiate partnership between the businesses and functions will be essential to originating and executing on new clients, new trading relationships and new transactions that will make the role a success. In particular the following will be key: 

  • Working in close partnership with the existing CPB Global Capital Markets team
  • Working in close partnership, as a “Solution” product champion, with the regional business heads (Global Market Managers), the regional IC heads, anc the rest of the CPB relationship managers
  • Close coordination with the various Citi Markets product trading and structuring desks to source ‘Solutions’ product across all asset classes
  • Managing relationships with key approvers in functional chains from both CPB and Markets. Positive and collaborative  relationships with risk, legal and compliance will be essential to executing transactions and relationships that fit with the firm’s risk appetite.
  • Working actively with regional Citi Markets heads, to coordinate local coverage of FOs where Markets access is in place or potentially relevant, and in order to facilitate the introduction of dormant or non-target market accounts to CPB
  • Maintaining and propagating a disciplined target market universe with regular strategic reviews with key business management stakeholders
  • Work with Risk, credit and legal in CPB and Markets to negotiate and execute credit lines and documentation terms with the client base and their respecive legal teams
  • Work with the onboarding teams in CPB and Markets to effectively onboard the new accounts into both platforms.

Knowledge/Experience:

  • Extensive experience in sales of multi asset Markets Products
  • Extensive Knowledge in selling and coordinating  “Solution” products to SFO
  • Experience in derivatives and structured products
  • Exposure to Family Office and/or Ultra High Net Worth Private clients
  • Language skills in addition to English are beneficial but not essential
  • Good understanding of Markets regulation for Retail  Customer base
