The role forms an integral part of the Markets Controlling team within the PBWM Finance APAC team. The role has an overall responsibility for Finance topics relating to Credit Suisse’s Private Banking market businesses in South
The role is key in partnering with the COOs and leaders of the South Market areas on topics ranging from performance management, planning and budgets, reporting/analysis and controls, key business initiatives and MIS requirements. The candidate is required to work collaboratively with other Private Banking and Wealth management CFO teams regionally as well as the Shared Services CFO Division to provide a single liaison point of representation on Finance topics.
The role is based in Singapore and reports to the Head of APAC PB Finance.
Key responsibilities include :
Act as Finance Partner to the business
a) Act as the primary contact to the business on all finance matters, representing finance in business management meetings and committees
b) To provide transparency on the financial gaps and drivers around cost efficiency, effective Balance Sheet measurement and management at the market and location levels and identify mitigating actions/next steps
Lead Business Performance Management, Planning and Reporting for the South Asia Markets
a) Partner with the business to define KPI framework and drive the definition, communication and implementation of the same.
b) To liaise with the Market Area in defining financial ambitions and facilitate the Market Level Budget breakdown. This includes the defining and implementing of the methodology for attribution of the market budgets down to the RM level.
Participate in business development and key business initiatives
a) Participate in key business initiatives in an advisory or leadership capacity. Undertake proactive analysis to understand business drivers, key trends and develop strategies and actionable recommendations to address.
b) To support the definition and implementation of the strategic roadmap of the South Asia markets
c)To participate and provide inputs in driving Market level Revenue projects involving Pricing Structure Discussions, Product portfolio offerings etc.
d) To enhance sales steering and strategy tracking information by providing inputs in to the Sales effectiveness program, ensuring successful roll out of Sales focused MIS projects such as Actionable MIS, My Contribution for the RMs
Support Business Information and analysis needs
a) To partner with the Business Stakeholders and Management teams i.e. COO functions in driving analytics and facilitating fact - based decisions, focusing on top line revenues, allocations and PTI.
b) Collaborate with MIS platform teams to provide value added MIS reports and analysis identify capability gaps and define future enhancements. Provide expert advice, training and support on finance data, processes and systems
Ensure strong control environment
a) Understand key financial risks, define and implement appropriate monitoring and operational controls, support legal entity oversight (Singapore location packs)
b) All control measures following identification of the risks should be documented and implemented effectively
c) Continuously refine and revisit legacy processes with a view to identify deficiencies and re-engineer processes thereby creating more efficiency
Collaborate with other finance areas
1. To ensure effective collaboration and knowledge sharing with the MBIS team/ Mumbai COE function
Candidate requirements :
* *Significant prior experience ( 12-15 years) in Finance/Accounting functions or similar capacity in a global banking environment*
* *Strong track record supporting a front office business in a finance business partner/controlling capacity or similar*
* *Strong leadership skills and demonstrated ability to partner with the business*
* *Strong communication skills, able to operate with senior executives*
* *Analytical skills and strategic problem solving abilities*
* *Experience leading a multicultural team with strong staff development capabilities*
* *Experience in Private banking an advantage*
* *Academic degree and professional qualifications in a relevant area e.g. Finance, Accountancy, Business Administration*
