Description of SCIFI Demonstrator
UpNext launch a new flight demonstrator, SCIFI, to go a step further to pave the way of autonomous flights on commercial aircraft. In particular, this demonstrator aims to demonstrate the ability to ensure safe flight back and landing. All the outcomes of this demonstration will contribute to prepare more autonomous aircraft of the next decade.
On top of these technical challenges, this demonstration has to be achieved in less than 30 months.

SCIFI team is looking for a Computer Vision Specialist (m/f) to orientate the choices in term of vision-based solution for surveillance and navigation applications in the frame of the demonstrator.
As such, the jobholder will:
Researching, designing and implementing computer vision systems for guidance, navigation and object detection for aircrafts
Keeping up to date with the latest technological advances in Computer Vision and implement this into your work
Preparing documentation for flight testing

Duration of the mission:
The mission will last till the flight tests campaign and the associated reports, roughly 24 months.
Note that the contract for this position is a CDIC (Contrat Durée Indéterminée de Chantier), limited term contract for the duration of the project.
Your Boarding Pass (Required skills):
As the successful candidate you will be able to demonstrate some or all of the following skills and competencies:
Educated to Master's degree level in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
Knowledge in Image processing and signal processing algorithms is required
Knowledge in artificial intelligence (machine learning, deep learning, CNN, …) is a must
Strong skills in C++/Python
Knowledge of SLAM, surface reconstruction, LiDAR, or Radar
Knowledge of Overall System Design, knowledge of Airbus avionics & systems architecture would be a plus
Previous experience in large project with various external partner is preferable
Negotiation level in English is required
