DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This is professional work in a variety of geologic, hydrogeologic, public health and water supply protection duties with a 15-county Southcentral region in connection with the protection, assessment, utilization and development of hydrogeologic features related to the protection and siting of public drinking water sources. Duties are performed under the direction and oversight of a licensed professional geologist in the Safe Drinking Water program.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

Qualifications:

  • Must meetPA residency requirement

  • Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year as a Geologic Trainee;OROne year of experience in professional geologic work, and a bachelor's degree in geology or a closely related field including or supplemented by 30 credit hours in geology, hydrogeology, geophysics, geochemistry, engineering geology or other appropriate geology courses. A graduate degree in geology, hydrogeology, geophysics, geochemistry, engineering geology or a closely related field may be substituted for the required experience. OR Possession of a license as a professional geologist issued by the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists.

  • Necessary Special Requirement: Possession of a valid Pennsylvania driver's license.
