Sr. Java Developer
Location: Remote
Duration: 6+ Months
Rate: $50-55/hr on W2
Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Java Developer to design, develop, and maintain high-quality APIs that support modern web applications. This role requires strong hands-on experience with Java and modern JVM frameworks, as well as the ability to collaborate effectively with senior developers and cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, scalable, secure, and testable solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain Java BFF (Backend-for-Frontend) services using Quarkus, delivering secure, high-performance, production-ready code.
- Design, develop, and implement RESTful APIs that effectively support frontend applications.
- Develop and maintain data access layers using Hibernate/JPA and relational databases such as PostgreSQL.
- Collaborate closely with technical leads, peers, and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
- Take ownership of code quality, including code reviews, unit testing, integration testing, and adherence to development best practices.
- Apply security best practices throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Contribute to cloud-native application deployments on Kubernetes within AWS environments.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve production and performance issues while continuously improving system reliability and stability.
- Participate in architectural discussions and contribute to technical decision-making.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of professional experience in Java development.
- Strong experience with Java (Java 8+) and Spring / Spring Boot.
- Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and microservices.
- Solid understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP) principles and design patterns.
- Experience working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, Oracle, or SQL Server.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems such as Git.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies including Docker and Kubernetes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Quarkus and cloud-native application development.
- Exposure to frontend technologies such as React, Angular, or similar frameworks.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Knowledge of modern software development practices, including automated testing and DevOps methodologies.
