General Description

Coordinate and supervise the work processes and operations of the Consumer Services and Credit Quality Assurance and Accounting Entries and Other services groups. Establish and maintain operational and administrative controls to ensure full compliance with established plans and objectives.

Essential duties and responsabilities

  • Ensure all Home Equity (HE) processes are implemented through.
  • Ensure that the following SLAs in the unit are achieved as established.
  • Guide, supervise, evaluate and motivate your group towards achieving objectives, standards of excellence and productivity.
  • Identify training and education needs of the personnel under your charge and channel these requirements through formal and informal training activities.
  • Know the impact that your role has on the operation of the unit you supervise and its interaction with other units of the Bank.
  • Ensure the maintenance of the systems in your area to guarantee good service to customers.
  • Anticipate the necessary resources and establish action strategies to achieve the proposed objectives.
  • Maintain records and prepare reports on the administration of operations carried out in the unit.
  • Identify areas of opportunity in the operation and develop strategies that create operational or monetary efficiencies.
  • Periodically coordinate work sections and meetings with your teams to ensure that the strategies and expectations of your resources are being met.
  • Offer cordial and friendly treatment to clients (model Popular's institutional values) with whom you interact and care about meeting and solving their requirements promptly and efficiently. Ensure that your group offers this same treatment to clients.


Bachelor's degree completed from an accredited university or college.


Minimum of three years of experience in Banking in functions related to Consumer Credit, Operations, Compliance.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA's)

  • Know the techniques, procedures, products and services related to closing and disbursement, as well as maintenance processes in applications such as ILS.
  • Possess knowledge of Individual Credit Standards and Procedures, Federal and State Regulations and the laws that govern the banking industry.
  • Knowledge and application of administration, supervision and employee management techniques.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Mastery of the Origination systems used in Retail Credit and knowledge of Microsoft Office systems (Outlook, Excel and Power Point).
  • Performs efficiently and maintains control in situations of pressure and ambiguity.
  • Look for different sources to make accurate and timely decisions that take into account the associated risks and benefits, within the established parameters.
  • Transmits ideas with clarity, precision and logical order.
  • Master communication in English and Spanish both verbally and in writing.
  • Adapt your language and vocabulary depending on the characteristics of the recipient to whom you direct your message.
  • Looks for alternatives of action to reach agreements and defend their points of view in discussions or negotiations with their employees, supervisors, managers and other work areas.
