Due to growth within the Storage business, we are looking to hire a Storage Sales Specialist who will service a broad spectrum of customers and partners across the island of Ireland.
The ideal candidate will have experience in selling Storage solutions based around all aspects of storage including Enterprise SANs, All Flash Arrays, Software Defined Storage and Backup technologies.
The HPE Storage Portfolio is a wide ranging portfolio covering entry level SAN’s through to our industry-leading HPE Nimble and HPE Primera Storage arrays, Storage Networking and StoreOnce Backup solutions. HPE also has a range of Software Defined Storage alliances to help customers address their storage needs.
How you’ll make your mark:
Drive Storage Sales across accounts/sectors alone and in close cooperation with aligned channel partners
Work to a quota & sales plan and forecast revenue in line with both.
Work closely with Storage Presales people to develop and present innovative Storage solutions to customers.
Establish a professional, working, and consultative, relationship with the client - particularly at the front end of the sales cycle – up to IT management level, by developing a core understanding of the unique business needs of the client within their industry.
Formulate and expand solutions to generate additional product or service attachments and up-sell revenue.
Contribute to building of the pipeline by generating leads and referrals and new customer opportunities.
Serves as a trusted advisor to the Partner (e.g. Value Added Reseller (VAR), Distributor, SI, ISV, Managed Service Provider) on where to play within emerging trends in Partner's ecosystem in alignment with HPE business priorities. Works with the Partner to create a mutually beneficial plan for the future.
For channel focused clients the role will include the need to drive end-to end HPE revenue, profitability, and pipeline by creating joint business plans and leading data-driven sales efforts with the Partners
Scope and impact:
Participates in general sales strategy; defines specific sales plans with manager.
Selling role may be transactional and/or demand generation focused.
May work with and leverage external partners to deliver sale.
May interface with any level in customer organization; focused mainly on specialist buyers
Account size ranges; may work in a Small-Medium, Enterprise, or Corporate Segment; varied sales cycle.
Technical Storage capability to conduct customer engagements.
Commercial experience to generate compelling offerings including CAPEX and OPEX models.
Assesses solution feasibility from a technical and business perspective to determine "qualify-in"/"qualify-out" status
Solid communication and presentation skills within IT at the manager level.
Maintain knowledge of industry trends, associated solutions, and key partner/ISV solutions.
Knowledge and Skills
Technology Acumen: Solid awareness of current technology trends and related HPE strategy and ability to articulate same to Clients and Partners.
Sales Acumen: Effectively exercises selling skills such as identifying potential opportunities, utilizing appropriate sales platforms and resources, and formulating and proposing solutions with the goal of expanding HPE's business. Acts with a sense of urgency to build strong customer relationships and drive solutions for the partner.
Account Management: Solid understanding of business and financial fundamentals to develop strategic plans that are aligned to customer, partner and HPE strategies, creating increased business opportunities and value for HPE.
Portfolio Knowledge: Solid understanding of HPE products and how they can deliver value to customers in contrast to HPE's competitors. Ability to select the best product for the customer's needs, maximizing value for both the customer and HPE.
Industry Acumen: Understands the customer's industry landscape, enterprise architecture, and partner and influencer ecosystem, and is able to use this knowledge to build and advise the customer on its digital journey plan.
Partnering Acumen: Builds understanding of and relationships with partner and internal community among all types and levels of the business, integrating sales engagement efforts. Solid understanding of the Partner's relationships and needs.
Financial Acumen: Solid understanding of financial accounting concepts such as income statements, balance sheets, revenue projections, etc. to assess customer financial health, identify potential risks, and position value propositions of HPE solutions.
Sales Forecasting: Ability to look forward and anticipate partner needs, proactively forecasting sales quota and effectively bridging sales gaps.
Communication: Professional, clear, and effective verbal and written communication.
Time Management: Ability to prioritize and effectively meet deadlines.
Continuous Learning: Continuously and actively pursues own learning.
Creativity and Entrepreneurship: Ability to innovate, think beyond proscribed solutions, and take proactive steps to advance HPE sales efforts.
Education and Experience Required:
Demonstrated progressive achievement, diversity of business customers, and higher level customer interface.
Detailed knowledge of key customer types or customers on given products.
Typically 8-10 years of experience in Storage sales in an End User environment although candidates with Channel Sales experience will be considered.
