The Section Loads, Power Performance and Wind Resource is part of the Department “Renewables Measurements Germany” and is located in Hamburg and Kaiser-Wilhelm-Koog, Germany. The Section measures and analyses the loads on the whole structure of a turbine, evaluates the characteristic power curve of a specific turbine, measures the wind speed on site and provides diverse services involving LiDAR technology, including equipment validation/calibration as well as wind resource and power performance assessment. The Section currently consists of 16 employees.

Your key tasks will include:

  • Support of our Project Engineers in Loads, Power Performance and LiDAR measurement campaigns
  • Project assistance for our Project Managers
  • Regular data quality and plausibility checks
  • Work on your own small R&D projects (Measurement Systems)
  • Support in design and instrumentation preparation
  • Installation and Maintenance of instrumentation on (field-) site
  • Software and Tool development
  • Support of other Sections in Acoustic or Power Quality

  • Enrolled student within technical field (e.g. Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Wind Energy / Environmental Engineering)
  • Basic knowledge of MS Office
  • Fluent English language skills (both written and spoken)
  • Fluent German language skills (both written and spoken)
  • Knowledge of common programming languages preferred (e.g. Python, MATLAB, Famos)
  • Driving license type B
