We are currently looking for a part-time Junior IT Onsite Supporter in Basel, Switzerland to join our team.  A great opportunity to work in the IT industry with exposure to new technologies and international environment.

Tasks and Responsibilities:   

  • Maintain the integrity of all computer workstations and associated software within the organization and for some clients
  • Act as the main point of contact for employees who are experiencing computer issues
  • Resolve software, hardware and device issues reported by the end users (including laptops, desktop computers, Printers, mobile device hardware issues)
  • Support services for Client standard technologies including basic troubleshooting of Exchange and adds/moves/changes for AD accounts
  • Troubleshoot basic PC connectivity issues and network elements including ISP circuits, firewalls, network switches, wireless equipment and telephone system
  • Installation of packaged software and authorized 3rd party software
  • Remote access solution (VPN) implementation and support
  • Document and update the local client environment
  • Communication with customers/end users as required, keeping them informed of incident progress, notifying them of impending changes or agreed outages
  • Oversee the maintenance and tracking of assets, complete physical inventory
  • Advise and train staff on computer operations and software applications
  • Escalation to the Customer’s 2nd level support teams when necessary

Skills and Requirements:

  • Good understanding of Information Technology; trends, products and solutions
  • Student status with ongoing studies in a relevant field
  • At least 1 year experience in a similar position supporting a variety of technologies and services
  • Sound knowledge of:
    • Windows OS (Windows 7 & 10)
    • Microsoft Office & Office 365 applications
    • PC\Laptop hardware
    • PC\Laptop peripherals, including printers
    • Mobile devices
  • Awareness of:
    • Active Directory
    • Exchange
    • Mac / iOS device administration is a plus
    • Basic knowledge & understanding of Microsoft server operating system, File server, Backup, Anti-Virus 
  • Customer focused with a passion and drive for customer satisfaction and delivering business values
  • Ability to juggle time and resources to meet or exceed expectations
  • Well-developed sense of urgency, great problem solving skills and attention to detail 
  • Enthusiasm, resilience and a positive attitude
  • Professional appearance
  • Good team player and comfortable sharing responsibilities
  • Friendly, supportive and flexible personality with superior customer service and people skills
  • Exceptional communicator with great interpersonal skills and accountability
  • ITIL certification is an advantage
  • Fluency in German and English language (spoken and written)
