Great opportunity for a customer focused Supervisor to join our Hardware team located at our Portland site.

The Company

K & B Timber & Hardware is a newly formed business, with Banner Mitre 10 and Keith Timber Group joining forces.  We specialise in manufacturing prefabricated wall frames, roof and floor trusses with a strong network of hardware and building supplies stores across the state.

Our people are committed to providing our customers with high levels of service and ensuring we provide the solutions needed on a project. Industry trained and experienced, we have specialists in each department who are willing to help where required.

The Role

As the Hardware Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Hardware department and team.

Must have the ability to work across a 7-day roster.

 Responsibilities include:

• Providing a supervisory role and delegating workloads to others
• Maintaining high levels of team productivity and housekeeping
• Ongoing store and team development and improvement
• Monitoring customer service levels to ensure we provide GREAT service and advise customers on products and service
• Implementing and monitoring promotional activity and merchandising of existing and new products
• Minimising stock loss and shrinkage through effective stock management
• High awareness of site safety and duty of care for team and customers
• Ability to work across a 7-day roster
• Open and close business when required
• Working closely with the store manager

 Required skills and attributes:

• Operational knowledge of a hardware team
• Proven team leadership skills
• Knowledge of hardware and associated products
• Sales background
• Well-developed written and verbal skills
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
• Excellent organisational ability
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport quickly
• The ability to set and maintain procedures and workflows
• Strong understanding of WHS requirements
• Excellent computer skills
• Current forklift and drivers licence
