Position Overview:
The role will develop supply chain transformation strategy, manage the regional hub in Singapore and lead the optimization of supply network across International / out to customers, customer service, replenishment capabilities and warehouse operations across the region.

 
This position will report directly to the Vice President, Supply Chain EMEA & APAC and will need to have expertise in supply chain and operations management in Asia, additional geographies a distinct advantage. This role will require experience and demonstrated ability to drive the end to end supply chain agenda and influence at local, regional and global levels at the organization.  Exceptional leadership skills, strong interpersonal capabilities and the ability to roll-up one’s sleeves and get things done will be necessary to ensure that the individual is successful managing external partners, and assisting in the foundational work that is necessary to get a rapidly growing organization off the ground.

  • In general terms we are looking for an individual experienced in building and leading an operations and supply chain organization and regional hub which will give structure and direction to the expansion of the base business along with future new products.
  • This individual will have medical device or consumer goods experience with the set up and management of supply chain and related operational functions of a scaling organization. It is important that this individual has experience in dealing with these functions although does not need to be an SME in all areas.
  • The successful candidate will have a very entrepreneurial mind-set, be prepared to operate in a fluid and changing environment and can turn strategy into actions quickly.
  • The individual will interface with regional commercial teams to be aware of marketplace demands and future business trends which might impact supply chain and its management.
  • This role will manage the regional hub in Singapore and will be responsible for the evolution of the hub as necessary for commercial success.
  • Director must also partner effectively with the commercial teams, IT, finance, quality, regulatory, legal and compliance and Global Supply Chain & OPEX functions across multiple geographies.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop short and long-term supply chain transformation strategy and lead the implementation across the region.
  • Influence at all levels of the organization; serve as the liaison between the APAC and EMEA Supply Chain, Global Supply Chain and Global OPEX to the leader of the Med Segment transformation
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the project management, initiating, planning, executing, monitoring/controlling, and closing processes.
  • Monitor performance and recommends scope, schedule, cost or resource adjustments; connect short-term demands to long-term implications, in alignment with the supporting business case.
  • Prioritize multiple tasks while meeting deadlines; communicate project status (health, forecast, issues, risks, etc.) to stakeholders in an open and honest fashion.
  • Effectively balance competing project constraints including but not limited to scope, quality, schedule, funding, budget, resources, and risk, to manage project success.
  • Connect project objectives to broader organizational goals.
  • Provide input to contracts, review contracts to ensure completeness of scope and appropriate accountability based on role and/or responsibility.
  • Negotiate with stakeholders to obtain the resources necessary for successful project execution.
  • Utilize broad and deep knowledge to develop innovative new business practices, policies and procedures
  • Contribute to the development of APAC and EMEA Supply strategy
  • Work on or may lead highly complex projects of large scope - projects are typically cross-functional and have significant and long-term impact
  • Provide solutions which set precedent
  • Negotiate complex or risky technical business issues on behalf of the company
  • Independently define project; establish budgets; identify participants and mitigate risk
  • Consult with management to determine project objectives with long-term implications
  • Build strategic partnerships and relationships – build strategic alliances and partnerships within the organization to collaboratively execute business strategies

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field, or equivalent work experience
  • 10+ years’ experience in related field (regional supply chain, distribution, logistics, inventory, demand planning, transportation, manufacturing, sourcing, operational excellence, etc.)
  • Prior experiences leading and managing within a highly regulated environment
  • Prior experiences leading geographically dispersed organization with many levels (leadership, management, professional, hourly) required
  • Strong leadership skills and team building skills, along with the ability to work effectively in a matrix environment and deliver through others
  • Prior experience leading large transformation projects preferred
  • Global experience preferred
  • Travel expectations: 20%+
