Position Summary:

Reporting to the IT MANAGER, the Systems Administrator is responsible for maintaining and upgrading our information systems, servers and workstations. The selected candidate will be relied on to provide solutions that will work not just for the current, but also for the foreseeable future while balancing benefits versus costs in ensuring the most feasible outcome.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform technical support for staff in Dublin and Vancouver locations
  • Ensure all our physical and virtual servers, and workstations are running in tip-top condition
  • Proactively monitor all system logs (AV, firewall, VPN, etc) and raise or fix concerns
  • Keep documentation up to date and maintain inventory of all computing assets and costs
  • Secure all IT systems according to our ISO standards and security policies
  • Manage and maintain systems and data backups
  • Monitor applications and systems, identify issues proactively and mitigate them to improve customer experience
  • Perform infrastructure deployments
  • Support Office admin, P&C team for new hires' demands
  • Work on the projects and tasks as assigned
  • Available to work flexible work hours to accommodate the different time zones (PDT,GMT)

Key/Technical Skills:

  • Clear customer focus and proactive problem solving skills
  • Strong communication skills verbal and written with the ability to build relationships and influence
  • Comfortable with working closely within small teams in a fast-paced environment
  • Hands-on experience working with and supporting computing hardware and VMWare, and setting up/maintaining Cisco / Meraki networking equipment (firewall, routers, switches, VLANs, VPN, etc...)
  • Familiar with working in Microsoft AD environments.
  • Experience with deploying and managing SaaS and other hosted products and environments
  • Knowledge of networking concepts for performance, scalability and high availability
  • A+, Security +, CCNA, MCSA, ITIL or equivalent experience and knowledge
  • Experience in monitoring system status using Sumo Logic or similar monitoring tools
  • Good knowledge of Linux and Windows Server operating systems

Education and Experience:

  • 3-5 years of IT support experience
  • 3+ years of solid experience as a Systems Administrator or Systems Analyst in a 24×7 uptime environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent

Bonus if you have:

  • Experience with Jira, Confluence, GSuite (Google Workspace)
  • Experience in cloud technologies like Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Intune etc., will be a strong asset.
  • Familiar working in both Mac and Windows environments
  • Scripting skills - Batch file, PowerShell
  • Have experience in working in different time zones
