The Systems Architect, reporting to Global Director of Data and Analytics, will be responsible for designing, implementing and maintaining the systems necessary to support ZX Ventures. You will research, select and test technology products to design the best in class systems to support stakeholder requirements. You will build a strong software development life cycle, ensure an agile mindset within the team and drive stability across the solutions delivered. You will be required to stay on top of industry trends, identifying new technologies to solve business pain points and educate teams on how to leverage tools, creating the best user experience for stakeholders. With a heavy focus on Data Architecture, for the Data and Analytics team, the Systems Architect will continue to build upon the Data Warehouse foundations and lead initiatives with Data Engineers and Data Scientists to unlock the value of ZX Ventures data in a collaborative and innovative environment.

Main responsibilities

Lead the architecture evolution and design improvements of data management platforms and software solutions
Design, create and optimize key data pipelines, cascading knowledge and best practices to engineers
Discuss business requirements and design data models to support their analytical and business automation needs, while managing and building relationships with multiple stakeholders
Effectively develop data transformation jobs, selecting the right tool for each job
Ensure end to end data quality and delivery
Lead data security initiatives, focusing on business continuity and customer data protection
Build a strong SDLC foundation, including CI/CD and automated regression testing
Establish foundational relationships with the Data Science teams to enable collaboration

Requirements and skills

Degree in Computer Science or related field.
5+ years practical experience with data management / data integration / analytics projects in real-world applications.
Strong skills in database management, modeling, querying and ETL processing.
Clear understanding of modern data stores architectures and concepts of structured and unstructured data types.
Project management with emphasis in Agile
Proven knowledge in working with AWS, S3, Big Data, Python, SQL (extensive) and integrating data from various sources
Results orientated, curious, attention to detail, and a strong collaborator.
Excellent strategic and analytical thinking skills. We expect our team members to learn quickly and handle a number of challenges, wherever they are needed within the company.
Ability to build strong working relationships (globally) with strong stakeholder management skills.
Great visual, oral, and written communication skills.
Advanced project and people management skills that are needed to deliver great results in our work environment, as well as execution drive.
