Sensors-based technology has a wide range of applications including navigation, gaming, smart user interface, multimedia, virtual reality and augmented reality. This challenging position offers the opportunity to work with leading edge sensor technologies embedded in smartphones, automotive, IOT, smartwatches as well as other consumer electronics devices. Job activities span the whole product life cycle from early R&D to commercial deployment. The successful candidate will work with systems, software, and integration/test engineers in the QCT sensors group

Responsibilities include:

• Leading a team of engineers, including mentoring and coaching junior engineers
• Tracking project schedules, delivery and keeping stakeholders informed
• Working with global systems and software teams
• Designing algorithms using statistical signal processing and machine learning concepts
• Developing sensors algorithms in high level languages (MATLAB, Python), including algorithm performance validation
• Making effective engineering tradeoffs between performance, memory, power consumption, and computational complexity
• Embedded software development in C/C++ for fixed & floating-point based designs
• Creating reports on algorithm evaluation results and delivering complete design and user documentation
• New technology demonstrations, interfacing with customers and sensor vendors as well as partnering with internal and external teams to commercialise

The position is technology focused and involves participation in a broad range of sensors systems engineering activities within the Sensors Technologies group

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field
• 4+ years Software & Systems Engineering or related work experience
• 4+ years’ experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Matlab, Python, Java, etc

Preferred Qualifications

4+ years of experience in the following areas:

• Understanding of digital signal processing including basic sampling theory, Fourier transforms, digital filter design, time series analysis, Kalman filters and Least Squares
• Linear algebra, probability & statistics and stochastic process
• Basic Machine Learning concepts including supervised and unsupervised learning, feature extraction, classification, logistic regression, Bayesian inference and Neural Networks
• Knowledge of MEMs & inertial sensors
• Experience with embedded systems such as ARM, DSP
• Embedded programming skills in C/C++

• Familiarity with ML libraries and packages with project experience in Python

• Strong analytical skills and ability to work in a dynamic and fast paced team environment
• Excellent written and verbal skills
• Strong technical leadership and coaching skills

Education Requirements

Bachelors, Masters or PhD in Electrical or Computer Engineering or equivalent
