Yocto System Engineer for embedded medical devices (m/w/d) Biotechnology

Your role:

• As Yocto System Engineer in the R&D department, you are responsible for designing the Yocto tree for the Miltenyi Operating System “MOPS” and contribute to our mission, to make cancer history.
• Creating the Linux based industrial embedded system and extending the Yocto layers for different medical instruments.
• Provide 3^rd level support for complex problems on hardware application integration.
• Lead and guide the team of Linux engineers and share your first hand Yocto knowledge.
• Co-creating a completely new system from beginning in collaboration with the Lead OS Engineer and other stakeholders.

Your profile

• You are a Linux specialist with hands-on experience in building system architectures with Yocto.
• You have a good knowledge of boot processes, application-integration, hardware-interaction, GUI systems (EGLFS, Wayland, X11) and update-procedures (Mender).
• You enjoy Python- and shell-scripting, and debugging of C/C++ applications, with a focus on Qt.
• You have a good understanding of open source licenses as well as software build tools such as Cmake, make and Autotools.
• You gained have already experience with application security and would like to further develop your security capabilities on the OS-level.
• You enjoy working on complex software projects. Good communication skills in English, preferably also in German round up your profile.
