Job Title: Sub-System Manager
Purpose of the job: The Sub-S Manager is responsible for management and successful completion of cross-functional activities leading to the delivery of a complete train sub-system, fulfilling both customer needs and committed QCD objectives.
Functionally reporting to the Project Chief Engineer or Chief Operation depending on the phase, he/she will:
1. Manage cross-functionally Sub-S level stakeholders, activities and deliverables and make needed arbitration (product x process, MoB, Costs, Milestones, Interfaces, …) to reach QCDP commitment.
2. Coordinate Sub-S activities with other project stakeholders including train level teams, other Sub-S and project level functions.

1/ Contribute to successful Project execution on allocated Sub-S scope of work:
Apply Project Strategy according to defined contractual and Project commitments and targets, as allocated on Sub-S.
Actively contribute to Project performance
Alert in case of deviations impacting project objectives; actively contribute to risks and opportunity management
Ensure compliance with applicable rules, instructions: Code of Ethics & Compliance, EHS, Railway Safety, Quality, PMM, E&C rule…
2/ Lead and coordinate Sub-S activities and stakeholders, from design to delivery & final acceptance of sub-system:
Achieve Q,C,D objectives of its SS
Cascade and allocate project requirements and QCD objectives to Sub-S team members
Define Sub-S WBS and WP QCD specifications; interacts with sites and métiers to secure Sub-S delivery (e.g. resource allocation)
Plan, monitor, control and manage Sub-S end-to-end activities (schedule, resources, cost, risks, opportunities)
Coordinate and support consistent cross-functional execution of Sub-S objectives, activities and deliverables (R&D, sourcing (in particular: PMFU animation, sourcing performance reporting), SC, Logistics, Indus when applicable, RAMS…)
Lead teams in successful achievement of project objectives, synchronize stakeholders at Sub-S level and ensure stakeholder alignments
Perform Sub-S level decisions and trade-offs
Rebaselining and change management at sub-system level
Manage sub-S situation and KPI, and report with transparency
Upon request from PM, is delegated to represent Alstom towards Customer and external stakeholders
3/ Coordinate and synchronize Sub-S activities with other Sub-Ss and project teams:
Actively contribute to the resolution of overarching/transverse optimizations or issues
Manage interface with project-level team members & project office (e.g. industrialization, control of configuration management, PrSM quality) and ask if necessary for PM arbitration
Manage interface with train-level teams (in charge of architecture and integration) and other Sub-S teams and ask if necessary for Chief Engineer/Chief Operation arbitration
Delivery of sub-S in accordance with QCD targets (QCD KPIs) and all contractual requirements
Sub-S gate review on time
Compliance with Project Strategy according to defined contractual and Project commitments and targets, as allocated on Sub-S.
