Job Description

Golder is seeking a Tailings Surveillance Engineer to join the Tailings Team within the Mine Waste Group . This is a junior to intermediate level position within the Mine Waste Team and is appropriately qualified in the delivery of tailings services, aligned with the Golder suite of engineering products.
ROLES and RESPONSIBILITIES
· Provide tailings surveillance services on projects within the mining and industrial industry
· Provide technical advice and consultancy on tailings storage facilities (TSF) associated with operational risks and other issues to clients (external & internal)
· Build reputation as an engineering technical consultant / specialist
· Keep abreast of advancing technologies, methods and research & development
· Managing, analysis and reporting for projects which may include the following:
- Undertake site investigations of tailings storage facilities for Clients
- Overall TSF operations review and reporting. This activity can either be undertaken on a monthly or quarterly basis and could require an extended period of duty. (i.e. exceeding the normal 9 hours per day)
- Preparation of detailed audit reports on TSFs
- Detailed stability analysis using RocScience software
- Capacity assessments and deposition modelling of tailings storage facilities for life of mine (LOM)
- Design of TSF extensions and CQA inspections of tailings infrastructure
+ Provide safety leadership in Health & Safety (OH&S incident reporting) and compliant to Golder HSSE requirements
+ Prepare proposals and reports for clients
+ Other duties as required

· Relevant Degree or Diploma in the Geotechnical / Civil / Water Engineering
· 4 years plus experience post-graduation
· Knowledge of project finances
· Experience at a consulting firm within mine waste, tailings operations contractor or client within the mining / industrial industry
· Project management skills and experience
· MS Word, MS Excel (Advanced), MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook, MS Projects, RocScience Slide 6.0, Autocad, Surfmate and Muck 3D (optional)
· Own Vehicle
· Valid Driver's License
