Currently, the company is executing metro projects in several Indian cities including Chennai, Kochi and Lucknow where it is supplying Rolling Stock manufactured out its state of the art facility at SriCity in Andhra Pradesh. Purpose of the Role

• Both the factories in RS segment are in growing trends with multiple tax challenges & tax incentives schemes
• Position will be responsible for RS tender taxation guidance
• Role will oversee the overall compliance & drive collections from Departments with greater rigor.
• Big sum of amount receivables from Dept/ Customer of almost 50M Euros plus (Sri + CBE + Mumbai)
• RS Tax role will drive with great rigor and maturity with both tax departments & internal stakeholders (SCM, Indus teams, Project teams, finance) in order to liquidate balances
• Solve complex legacy issues plus with growing size of the business

Organization Reporting

Reporting: This position reports to Alstom India RS Finance Controller with dotted line reporting to India Tax Director

Position: “Tax Manager – Rolling Stock” based out in Bangalore (India)

Job Responsibilities:

Accounting

• Own all tax related accounts (including Customs balances) & drive key actions:
  - with PC's for recovering GST & Customs balances (including DRI payouts)
  - with Tax teams for timely recovering GST & Drawback refunds
  - Publish monthly Dashboard on key actions to be done along with Road blocks (To be included in Site Reviews & MPR)
  - Adequacy of provisions on a quarterly basis
  - Ensuring minimum loss of eligible tax credit to company, in case of any provision required a detailed RCA and mitigation actions to be proposed
  - Review monthly reconciliations (GL Vs returns) & take necessary actions
  - Monitoring Inverted GST balances liquidation plan
  
  Compliance
• Drive monthly Dashboard on all Compliances for RS businesses (ATIL & ATSA)
• Partner with Customs Central Team on document adequacy (Audits/ reviews monitoring)
• Routine reviews of SICOS (Monitoring Surprise checks)
• Completeness of GRN/ BOE vis a vis Customs tracker & IFEC Customs payouts
• Overview/ Surprise verification the record keeping of Original BOE at site - with easy tracking and retrival
• RS Hub Activities monitoring - Adequacy of timely accounting/ document flows
• Monitoring legacy cases/ tracker & driving closure - Leading the GST or any tax audits of sites.
• Specific trainings & connect with Operations on new laws/ policies & annoucements (incl regular trainings)
• Monitoring Depot compliance (specifically GST on Spares billing/ Inventory related controls)
• GR Waiver & Sub Contractor Stock monitoring
• Visibility on E-BRC/ SEIS/ MEIS filing on time - 100% on time
• Audit on Input GST verification & ensure controls on External/ Internal Invoicing are correct
• DC monitoring and timely closure of returnable DCs.
• Close exisiting EPCG's and apply for new one's wherever possible to optimize the tax cost to company.
• Advance License/ Duty drawback & Project Registration monitoring
• Evaluate & support Inbond Mfg. scheme implementation

Business Partnering

• Monthly monitoring of BUD VS Actuals (including SFTR) of Other Cash In numbers (Risk & Opps)
• Structuring of specific deals with a view to minimise the transaction costs (ATIl/ ATSA, Local Vs imports, etc)
• Specific cases on structuring in Business Awards
• Customer interactions for specific contractual tax discussions - Particpate in specific discussions
• Evaluate optimisation of Tax Costs in specific Projects/ Sites & drive effective tax planning
• Understand Intercompany Recharge agreements/ reverse charge & evaluate / optimise tax impact
• Minimise external consultant costs

Risk Management

- Mapping of high risks items & devise mitigating controls

- Continue Tax awareness across functional & operational teams

- Partner with Internal Controls & Site/ Project teams in laying down clearly established SOP's

You are expected to play an active role to support the various Operations teams: pro-active, flexible, innovative, close to your Business needs. The specific responsibilities of the role include:

1. Strong technical skills & tax planning:
This includes monthly implementing new schemes & also solving complex tax issues with Departments

2. Budgets & Forecasts
Foresight into likely tax collections & create a dashboard to the management on likely collections (including risks & opps)

3. Team Management:

This will involved managing a 3 member team plus few contract staff who’ll manage the compliance requirements to 2 factories, 1 engg centre & a foreign entity branch office

4. Stakeholder alignment:

This role also involved interaction with Customers & PC’s/ PM’s to ensure smooth governance at the depot plus solving contractual tax topics.

Requirements:

• CA/ICWA with 12/14+ years of experience or with good commercial knowledge and business acumen from a reputed Company (preferably from Project Industry & dealt with long term construction contracts)
• Strong experience in large factories & SAP knowledge is critical
• Excellent technical knowledge on GST, Customs laws is essential for this role
