Goodstart Early Learning is looking for a passionate Early Childhood Teacher to join the team at our Annandale – Yolanda Drive centre , based in North Queensland.

About the Role

Goodstart has a Fixed-Term position open for a passionate Early Childhood Teacher, who can build and sustain strong relationships with children, parents, and the local community. You will work closely with your Assistant, ensuring you plan innovative and engaging child initiated curriculums, incorporating both indoor and outdoor environments, sustainability, and local excursions.

Goodstart Early Learning Child Care Centre Annandale Yolanda Drive is located in a relaxed pocket of suburbia close to residential areas, local shops and schools.

Our child care centre is part of a great defence community and is located close to the Lavarack Army Barracks, hospital, university and major shopping precincts.

Our programming, observation and evaluation techniques encourage and support individual development. We plan lessons to role model multiculturalism, acceptance and healthy lifestyles.

Inside, all of the rooms - from Toddler to Kindergarten / Preschool, we are all set up in line with an Early Years Learning Framework, with sensory and play based learning opportunities. Colourful, stimulating surrounds ensure the children have the chance to grow and develop through sensory, play-based learning.

Outside, we have three areas all with age appropriate play spaces and equipment. We have sandpits, lots of shade, vege patches, wooden deck areas, flower gardens, worm farm, recycling area and a balance of natural and manmade play surfaces.

Our centre thrives on community involvement and is always happy to help and our Vision is to work in partnerships with families to enable children to achieve their learning potential.

Your role/requirements

• Full-time, fixed-term position - 38 hours/week
• Studying towards or hold Bachelor of Education/Early Childhood or equivalent ACECQA approved qualification deeming you as an Early Childhood Teacher (ECT) or ‘actively working towards’
• Hold a current Blue Card or alternatively an Exemption Card with QLD Teachers Registration
• Hold a current First Aid qualification
