About the Role

Goodstart has a new exciting opening for a passionate Early Childhood Teacher in our vibrant Pre-kindy room, who can build and sustain strong relationships with children, parents, and the local community. You will be responsible for planning innovative and engaging child initiated curriculums using the Early Years Learning Framework and Queensland Kindergarten Guidelines, incorporating both indoor and outdoor environments, sustainability, and local excursions.

Goodstart Early Learning Mount Pleasant is located in a beautiful, quiet street in the middle of Mackay’s northern suburbs. Children can start at Goodstart Mount Pleasant at the age of 15 months, and we strongly encourage families to stay right up until they start school, as we run a Government Funded Kindergarten program run by an Early Childhood Teacher.
Our team of educators at Goodstart Mount Pleasant have worked thoughtfully to create environments that are beautiful for our children. Our Toddler, Senior Toddler and Pre-Kindergarten educators develop specific learning programs based on the Early Years Learning Framework, where our Kindergarten program is designed alongside the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guidelines to ensure our older children are ready for Prep.

Our role/requirements 

• Full-time - 38 hours/week (fixed term contract to cover maternity leave from January to July 2021)
• Must be flexible to work a roster
• Studying towards or hold Bachelor of Education/Early Childhood or equivalent ACECQA approved qualification deeming you as an Early Childhood Teacher (ECT) or ‘actively working towards’
• Hold a current Blue Card or alternatively an Exemption Card with QLD Teachers Registration
• Hold a current First Aid qualification.
