Position Summary:

The VMware Revenue Operations Team (RevOps) is seeking a highly motivated Revenue Team Lead for a position reporting to the RevOps Manager. Specific responsibilities will include the day to day management of a team of revenue analysts, manage and monitor our monthly close processes and progress, manage relationships with various stakeholders and review/approve system testing.

The successful candidate will be self-motivated, have a great attention to detail, strong analytical skills with an ability to research and problem solve. Ideally the candidate will also have a proven interest in systems and reporting.

The Responsibilities are as follows:
 

  • Manage the team of 3-4 Revenue and Senior Revenue Analysts
  • Manage our monthly close processes and monitor progress
  • Support period end close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, BS and PL flux analyses, and presentations to management
  • Manage relationships with various stakeholders on a timely basis
  • Ensure that requests sent to the shared mailbox are actioned on a timely basis
  • Provide Revenue guidance and support to the team to avoid potential revenue recognition issues and ensure compliance with internal revenue policies
  • Ensure compliance with SOX controls
  • Assist in identifying and implementing process improvements and automating manual processes where possible
  • Assist with system related revenue and deferred revenue analysis
  • Collaborate with IT and FSS team to resolve system related matters
  • Assist with ad-hoc requests
Position Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent
  • Experience in a Finance Department of a Multi-National Environment or large practice background
  • Experience directly managing people, including hiring, developing, motivating, and directing people as they work
  • Excellent knowledge of accounting systems & process flows, incl a knowledge of ASC 606
  • Demonstrate ability to effectively work with all levels within a company, strong communication skills, both written and oral
  • Ability to organize and prioritize responsibilities effectively in order to meet deadlines
  • Ability to identify and understand issues, problems and opportunities; compare data from different sources to draw conclusions using effective approaches for choosing a course of action or developing appropriate solutions; take action that is consistent with available facts, constraints, and probable consequences.
  • SAP ERP, Revstream or RevPro experience preferred
