About the role

As the Team Leader for Transactional Banking Operations you will be responsible for overseeing the day to day operational workflow and delivery of the department, ensuring that all required processing functions of the Transactional Account Opening and system maintenance are completed accurately and within the prescribed time frames and are in accordance with departmental procedures.

Along with this you will be responsible for delivering outstanding leadership to the Transactional Accounts Opening team including ongoing leadership, mentoring, development and talent planning discussions as well as managing and steering team meetings. Your collaborative approach will allow you to develop your team to proactively identify and drive operational efficiencies.

More specifically you will:

  • Represent the department in leadership project forums and provide input into key and business changes and initiatives as required.
  • Encourage and support the team to challenge and redesign operational business processes to support a superior client experience and maximise efficiencies.
  • Support a team culture that is consistent with the BOQS vision and values. Lead by having honest, respectful conversations and providing effective feedback.
  • Develop, implement and regularly review role design and responsibilities within the department to ensure the team’s competencies and capabilities are aligned to organisational objectives.
  • Oversee and review the ongoing management of the department’s financial budget.
  • Communicate and partner with Sales, Product, AML/CTF operations and Operational colleagues relating to pre & post transactional account requests and questions.
  • Proactively identify system enhancements to support process improvement and provide business requirements and subject matter expertise to develop and implement business system changes.

About You

  • Tertiary qualifications in a Banking, Business, Economics and/or Commerce related discipline
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proven team leader experience in Transactional Banking Operations
  • Strong knowledge of Transactional Banking Operations processes and products
  • Project Management expertise
  • Strong interpersonal and time management skills
  • Familiar with settlement processes
  • Experience with database systems
  • Keen understanding of products & policies
  • Strong understanding of banking compliance and regulatory issues
