R&D Team Manager DWI (m/f/d)

Provide world-class metal forming know how to Ardagh, built on detailed understanding of in-house process mechanism as well as global material and metal forming developments. Manage a team of specialist in the field of product and process development including CAD / FEA / Test field services. Being the partner of choice for AMB’s manufacturing and engineering teams in case of fundamental and strategical outlook themes. Develop and maintain strategic development exercises with suppliers to safeguard AMB’s reputation being the supplier of choice thru proof of competence and inventiveness. Establish and support project teams, built business cases and communicate the results to the business both in writing as well by applying advanced presentation skills. The position offers a unique position for relentless development of knowledge & management skills on global level.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create, monitor and improve metal-forming process set-up standards and guidelines, enabling to stretch the horizon for the 2-pc beverage can in respect to economics, sustainability and customer satisfaction.
  • Establish and maintain product standards and tooling drawings for all AMP can specifications and propose the light-weighting strategy and roadmap to manufacturing.
  • Integrate Finite Element Analysis in the set-up for product and process analysis including co-operation with suppliers, universities and institutes.
  • Recommend filing of new patents, review invention reports and third-party patents and support the legal team in patent litigation.
  • Co-operation and support of key stake holders in the field of S&M; Manufacturing; Legal; Supply Chain; Sustainability; H&S.
  • Supervise the test field facilities at SSC Bonn
  • Establish a working environment which promotes the importance of employees acting with integrity and in an ethical manner, and ensure the execution of key internal controls within the area of responsibility - Ecovadis

Requirements:

  • Degree in Mechanical- , Electrical-, or Process-Engineering or equivalent.
  • Project management skills including establishing sound business cases.
  • High level of communication & net-working skills. Proven ability to constructively and understandable sell highly complex technical matters.
  • 10 Years of experience in beverage can metal forming processes.
  • Strong personality, fluent in English speaking and writing, expressing a realistic, thrust full & positive mind.
