The Red Hat Customer Success team is looking for a Technical Account Manager - OpenShift to join us in Austria. In this role, you are going to provide personalized, attentive support and mentorship and build high-value relationships with a small group of enterprise customers as you try to understand their IT infrastructure, internal processes, and business needs. You will ensure that our customers receive access to solutions that enable their technical environments to run efficiently. As a Technical Account Manager, you'll work closely with internal teams like support delivery, engineering, and offerings management depending on the customers' environments and needs, facilitate cooperation with their other vendors, and advocate on their behalf. You will build up, maintain, and grow long-lasting loyalty between Red Hat and our customers. As a part of your onboarding process and further development process, you will receive specific technology certifications like Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) or Ansible certification. You'll have the opportunity to shape the future of our technology along with subject matter experts and developers in the open source community.

  • Serve as the Red Hat technical ambassador, working closely with a small number of customers using Red Hat OpenShift; develop relationships with key customer business and IT stakeholders including managers and technical associates
  • Deliver key portfolio updates and assist customers with upgrades of our offerings; advise customers on technology changes and mitigation strategies or potential disruptions to their service
  • Perform technical investigations of issues raised by the customers to find the root causes and solutions on your own or while collaborating with the members of Red Hat and customer teams
  • Manage customer cases and maintain clear and concise case and customer documentation; create customer engagement plans
  • Handle customer escalations with Red Hat and customer teams
  • Engage with Red Hat's engineering teams to help develop solutions, based on customers' engagements and personal experience, that will guide offerings adoption
  • Analyze and present periodic reviews of operational performance to customer leadership
  • Deliver trainings and presentations to customer associates
  • Travel, as necessary, to visit customers or internal events, following Red Hat's COVID-19 guidelines
  • Support customers implementing automated and containerized cloud application platform solutions
  • Stay up to date on technology changes related to container orchestration, runtimes, cloud-native technologies, and development practices
  • Engage with Red Hat's field teams, customers, and partners to ensure a positive cloud technology experience and a successful outcome, resulting in long-term success
  • Combination of technical and customer-facing skills and willingness to embrace and develop both
  • Prior experience in a support, development, engineering, or quality assurance organization
  • Technical and communication skills
  • Ability to manage and grow existing enterprise customer relationships by providing excellent customer experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and German, with ability to explain complex information to customers like aligning Red Hat's offerings with customer needs and use cases
  • Combination of good cooperation skills to work with internal and external associates
  • Ability to effectively manage and prioritize your tasks according to their importance and urgency and deal with large amount of communication
  • Experience with system management, cloud, or server virtualizationExperience with enterprise cloud solutions including Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) tools like Red Hat OpenShift, containers, Kubernetes, cloud management (Red Hat Cloud Suite), and IT automation (Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform)
  • Fluent in German and English
