SAP S4 Technology Lead - Cloud / Linux Infrastructure
As part of Digital Core Transformation team, this role is accountable for the design and implementation of Infrastructure Linux platforms for S4/Hana.
Direct responsibilities for this role include:
Define and deliver best-in-class Linux Platforms for SAP S/4 Hana
Configuration, Documentation, Testing, Delivery and Maintenance of enterprise scale IT Infrastructures for SAP S/4 Hana (Scope includes work among SAP and non-SAP Systems and Applications)
Manage service requests seamlessly within and outside of SAP, such as incidents or changes to configuration elements (CIs)
Operate in close partnership with the IT and business communities, subject matter experts, external consultants, cross functional teams, add-ons, etc.
Create and execute outcome-oriented strategies and build/sustain meaningful business relationships
Oversee the administration of computing resources which includes a variety of vendor technologies: VMWare, Dell/EMC, Linux (RHEL), Data Domain, Azure, MS Active Directory, DNS, etc.
Monitor, maintain, document processes/resolutions to issues, predict SAP Applications performance to meet established service levels, and schedule/execute the SAP system housekeeping and monitoring.
Provide technical support and care for SAP solutions.
Prioritize and coordinate activities to assure the optimal performance, stability and security of systems and services.
Prepare planning, documentation, execution and testing of Disaster Recovery plans for on -prem or hosting services area.
Make certain all hardware and software is properly supported and follows vendor licensing agreements.
Ensure all changes are planned and completed with minimal impact to the users.
Ensure all system resources are monitored, tracked, and documented.
Research emerging technologies and service enhancements, then recommend, schedule, and lead enhancement upgrades.
Develop and report hosting services KPI's to measure service performance and capacity.
Develop, implement, and maintain disaster recovery plans in compliance with the departmental and organizational disaster recovery plans.
Maintain strict confidentiality and security of sensitive data.
Relies on significant experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.
Automate/simplify server delivery process for quick and consistent results in keeping with project timeline requirements.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Desired skills / expertise
Complex troubleshooting ability/skills to quickly investigate and resolve problems. To create, document and explain resolutions.
Cross-train team members to performance operational tasks and create process and procedure documentation.
Excellent oral and written communication skills in preparation for senior management communications and discussions.
Ability to provision and deliver new systems while maintaining existing server consistency and stability.
Experience with hybrid cloud automation using tools like Terraform, Ansible, Satellite
Significant Cloud IaaS experience in Azure and/or GCP is preferred
Configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements.
Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required.
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or 7-10 years of experience in a related field experience as a Linux/UNIX System Administrator.
2-4 years’ experience leading an infrastructure team, including responsibility for training, evaluating staff, and assigning workloads.
Experience with SAN storage and data protection systems design and administration.
Experience with server virtualization, optimization, and performance tuning.
Experience with Cloud/hosting services.
Experience in coordinating and managing multiple projects and resources.
Strong customer service and organizational skills.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal.
