Bethel School District is seeking qualified applicants for 10 - 20 temporary 4 -6 hours per day Educational Assistant I and II for schools across the District. These positions will be expected to support several models of instruction including, but not limited to
These positions are for the remainder of the 2020 - 21 School Year and will assist with supervision, small group instruction and health & safety protocols. Assignments and schedule will be determined by student, building and program needs. Training will be provided. Some positions will be benefit eligible.

Nature of Work
An Educational Assistant I may be assigned classroom duties which involve a variety of clerical, word processing, computer spreadsheet and data base, typing, duplication and similar tasks in order to relieve a teacher of more routine, day to day classroom duties. Duties outside of the classroom include supervising playground and cafeteria activities.
An Educational Assistant II provides individual and small group support and personal assistance, often in a standard or special purpose educational program, to students with distinct and exceptional educational needs and challenges as determined by a certificated specialist. The primary purpose of positions in this class, which distinguishes it from positions of other classes, is to screen and assess the educational needs of students, provide instructional assistance to students in a classroom, and charting and recording results. Clerical and word processing or computer data base updating duties may be assigned to positions as time permits, but are not considered primary tasks and do not require a large percentage of time.

Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent. Previous course work and training, or child development, childcare or instructional assistance experience that demonstrates possession of the knowledge and abilities needed to perform the work. Any satisfactory equivalent combination of experience and training which ensures the ability to perform the work may be substituted for the required experience.
