CME Group’s Engineering & Execution team in Belfast is a high performing group of individuals that deliver on a broad range of functions including systems/business analysis, software development and quality assurance services. The team is responsible from initial request review, impact assessment, and prioritization through to solution implementation.
The Integration QA team is an extension of the Chicago-based Integration QA team and will work on projects which span both locations. Depending on the project, the interaction may be with various integration and functional development teams in Belfast, Chicago, New York, London or Bangalore. The successful candidate, throughout their career, will form a key part in driving our success across technology, and will find opportunities to work in a variety of projects and technologies, beyond their initial team and specialism.
Principal Accountabilities
• Actively participates in Integration testing efforts within the Belfast team and the wider global team
• Reviewing requirements and developing integration test plans and strategies
• Working with analysts to interpret high level requirements for complex, large scale initiatives and decomposing them into independent scenarios
• Participating in white box test case identification sessions to establish high level consensus on test case sets for corresponding requirements.
• Creating and executing manual and automated tests, verifying and reporting on actual results vs. expected results
• Creating and maintaining test artifacts, delivering status updates and maintaining stakeholder accessible status confluence pages.
• Serving as a competency specific subject matter expert, training, mentoring and coaching more junior team members as needed
• Developing a network of relationships within the organization in order to achieve results and to effectively communicate vision and status both within/across teams as well as to management staff
• Escalating complex challenges, issues and risks as well as proposed mitigating actions as required to management and team members
• Driving continuous improvement efforts by identifying and championing practical means of reducing time to market while maintaining high quality products (i.e. – process improvements/automation opportunities)
• Embracing and enforcing CME Group SDLC standards
• Identifying project testing strategy/approach with input from project stakeholders
• Identifying and communicating integration project timelines including dependencies
Essential Criteria
• B.A. or B.S. in business, computer science or a similar degree strongly preferred, however substantial relevant experience will be considered
• 5 years + of experience as a Quality Assurance Analyst
• Proven ability to work on multiple initiatives in parallel.
• Experienced in technical troubleshooting across a large enterprise network of diverse linux and windows deployed environments.
• Experienced in testing both Java and Windows based applications.
• Proficient in traversing, modifying and manipulating in a linux shell environment.
• Experienced in database operations for both Oracle and non-Oracle databases.
• Experienced in front end and back end white box testing.
• An analytical and creative approach to problem solving.
Desirable Criteria
• Experienced working on a System integration test team.
• Experienced working as part of a distributed team, and across teams independently as required.
• Experience working with financial technology for commodities trading.
• Exposure to the Agile methodology e.g. Scrum or Kanban.
• Experienced using both bespoke and off the shelf test automation frameworks.
