Location: South Region - Will be based on the location of the candidate hired.

Starting Salary: $1,452.50 bi-weekly(In accordance with current spending restrictions, an internal promotion into the position will be filled at the minimum of the pay grade or up to 5% of the employee’s current rate, whichever is higher.

DESCRIPTION
Incumbent in this position conducts fidelity monitoring and oversight activities for all risk assessment trainers in the region. Completes detailed reports on all activities and addresses corrective actions needed. Maintains open lines of communication with regional staff and area providers to quickly address any training needs and answers risk assessment related questions.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Completes work with individual offices to improve risk assessment accuracy and inter-rater reliability. Provides on-site assistance with each office and/or program in the region on a quarterly basis. Completes on-going inter-rater reliability activities for all staff using risk assessments. Communicates and works in conjunction with regional staff, program monitors, quality improvement staff, staff associated with other program improvement initiatives, and others concerning risk assessment questions and needs to be directed to Risk Assessment Coordinator.

Reviews confidential juvenile records/facility reporting (i.e., Central Communication Center (CCC) and Juvenile Justice Information System (JJIS Reports) for information pertaining to risk assessment processes. Utilizes restricted information/data to determine whether appropriate action was taken and potential need for re-training or other assistance. Gathers information related to Juvenile Justice Information System improvements needed and monitors progress made to improve risk assessment processes.

Attends, participates in meetings, trainings and other initiatives related to professional development as authorized by management. Completes special projects.

Assesses, analyzes and provides appropriate consultation, direction and technical assistance to identify and resolve contractual and programmatic issues and concerns related to risk assessment.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES, INCLUDING UTILIZATION OF EQUIPMENT, REQUIRED FOR THE POSITION
Knowledge in the area of department operation and use of risk assessments.

Knowledge in the area of risk factors for delinquency, assessment and evidence-based treatment and practices.

Knowledge in the area of implementation process and program readiness for change.

Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

Ability to understand and apply rules, regulations, policies and procedures relating to operational activities.

Ability to provide clear and precise directions.

Ability to gather and organize data into a logical format for presentation in reports, documents and other written materials.

Ability to work independently and to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.

Ability to assess training needs. Knowledge of the principles, methods and techniques of adult learning.

Ability to use desktop computers, including the MS operating system, and the MS Office software suite.

Ability to use JJIS; Ability to meet deadlines; Skill in building interpersonal relationships.

Incumbent must have ability to travel throughout the state on short notice as needs arrive.
PREFERRED MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

A Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university. Professional experience can substitute on a year for year basis for the required education.
