Purpose of the role

The Finance Systems Support & Training Manager leads a team of specialist Finance Systems Support Analysts and Trainers, located across multiple Australian offices, within a fast paced growth environment.

The team plays a critical role in ensuring that responsive and consistent support and training services are provided to the users of the Practice Management System (Elite 3e) and other financial applications and integrations.  

Job description

The remit of this role will include: team management and leadership; support services; training; improvements; as well as change and transition functions. Some duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Manage teams comprising Financial Systems Support Analysts, Rates Administrators and Trainers;
  • Support and encourage team members in their ongoing career development, and get involved in resourcing and recruitment;
  • Work with key stakeholders to understand the current and future needs of the business and to align the support and training strategy to effectively meet those needs;
  • Ensure operational support KPIs are delivered to agreed SLAs; manage service reporting and dashboards to analyse, report on and learn from data and trends;
  • Champion and monitor ITIL incident management using ServiceNow best practices. Contribute to Problem Management and Major Incident management processes;
  • Work with business teams to design processes and solutions to meet client requirements;
  • Operate as an escalation point for resolution of complex issues, reviewing options and determining the recommended approach;
  • Develop the strategy, plan and manage the delivery of the Financial systems training programme;
  • Ensure training materials are current, compliant with regulatory and risk management procedures and delivered via aligned training tools and best medium for purpose;
  • Design and publish training packages and products via various channels;
  • Champion users' priorities by ensuring that problems and incidents are clearly articulated with reproduction steps and escalated in a timely manner;
  • Contribute to prioritisation of items in product backlog for development, testing and release;
  • Participate in the review and sign off for new business requirements and ensure user stories are captured correctly and fully; 
  • Meet regularly with user representatives to maintain awareness, listen to feedback and discuss upcoming change;
  • Facilitate user acceptance testing and sign off, including assistance with creation of user acceptance test cases;
  • Develop change management plans for small to medium size projects and participate in change management planning for large projects.

More about you

On your first day, we expect you to have:

  • At least 10 years functional business experience, demonstrating strong working knowledge of related commercial environment and the key drivers of the business;
  • Experience managing Systems Support & Training functions, preferably with complex financial systems, ERP, or practice management systems such as Elite 3E;
  • Working familiarity with ITIL service management processes;
  • Practical knowledge of Service Management and helpdesk tools.

Bonus points for someone who has:

  • Legal industry or professional services experience
  • Experience with Elite 3e
