PRIMARY OBJECTIVE(S):

The primary objective of the Training Specialist is to provide online and digital product training for customers and/or employees to support new sales, increase customer usage, drive growth, develop new business and contribute to retention.

In addition, the position performs the role of “champion” across the range of Thomson Reuter’s online products and services, promoting usage and ensuring customer participation at all points along the development cycle.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Client Training – New Business & Retention

  • Identify at risk accounts and develop customised training that delivers increased usage and retention numbers across the online products.
  • Identify at risk customers and report these findings to the account manager
  • Arrange, create and deliver training to all new customers assigned by Account Manager
  • Partnership with Account Managers to create structured presentations and conduct demonstrations to help support pre-sales.
  • Accurately record all activities (client contact, training events, pre-pipeline opportunities) to provide transparency to the business.
  • Actively promote up-sell or cross sell sales opportunities.
  • Proactively contact customers in my territory to promote new enhancements and features in accordance with business objectives. ​

Customer Support

  • Provide second level research support to customer and TechCare teams
  • Contribute to the review and maintenance of training support materials including user guides, videos and tips.
  • Respond promptly to customer emails queries.

Internal Training

  • Deliver training to internal customers as required or requested by Manager ie sales, customer care
  • Prioritize sales training to align with business priorities.
  • Support sales induction and accreditation programs.

Administration & Reporting

  • Schedule travel plan 12 months in advance for approval by manager to provide transparency and manage all costs related to travel in accordance with the global expense guidelines.
  • Daily entering and updating of Activities, Cases, Events to maintain accurate transparency across the business.
  • Manage Training Events and Cases to maintain a productive and focused level of activity to meet business goals.
  • Schedule fortnightly catch-up meetings with manager to identify areas of concern and to formulate strategies for prioritizing workload.
  • Forward training evaluation link to customers on completion of all training sessions

Market/ Industry knowledge

  • Proactively maintain up to date knowledge of Thomson Reuters legal products and services.
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of competitor products and services.
  • Report on market trends; competitor activity and flag critical issues.

General

  • Maintain a high level of professionalism with all business units and external customers.
  • Contribute to project based assignments relating to NPD – New Product Releases.
  • Other tasks as directed by your manager

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

Formal Qualifications/Certification

  • Tertiary Qualification (preferred)
  • Law Degree (preferred)

Experience

  • 2+ years of previous legal or formal training experience
  • Worked in a professional library environment eg legal, academic.
  • Assisted in the design, delivery and evaluation of online training programs.
  • Designed and delivered eLearning modules.
  • Experience with preparation of support learning materials such as User Guides, Tips and videos
  • Commercial experience or in-depth knowledge of working with online information products and services

Skills

  • Strong communication & highly developed presentation skills, with an ability to think on one’s feet and communicate complex concepts to demanding groups of professionals
  • Ability to field questions and control training sessions.
  • Ability to create support documentation and videos
  • An energetic ‘can do’ attitude, with high levels of initiative
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and an ability to build strong relationships with clients and peers
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a high performing team
