  • Underwrite Accident & Health Risks
  • Assist the Product Manager on Medical Pricing/Analytics Tools, Business Insights & Product Filings 

Responsibilities : 

Underwriting 

  • Underwrite group life, group medical, personal accidents & travel renewal case within agreed turnaround time and ensure the underwriting decision complied with company’s goals, rules and guidelines.
  • To work with other departments to set up or change setup of products in the systems
  • To handle and assist in UW administrative work, such as drafting forms, drafting clauses, translation, statistical analysis, etc.
  • To build and maintain relationships with clients, brokers, cedants and reinsurers
  • To support and coordinate with Distribution teams on all UW related matters

Product Management

  • To support the Product Manager on product filings (e.g. product benefits & rates, policy wordings, formal submission to the regulator) and ensure delivery of product approvals within project timelines.
  • To assist in developing, updating and maintaining the group medical pricing tools to consistently deliver competitive rates that meet our company’s profit objectives.
  • To monitor portfolio trends (e.g. growth, loss ratio, retention) and assist in product changes as necessary.
  • To compile market data, perform data analysis and provide statistics for strategic planning & product pricing.
  • To periodically participate in discussions with company managers to review business results and identify opportunities for action. 
  • To participate in special projects as assigned by the Product Manager, e.g. system or process improvement, market research or any new business opportunities.

Requirements : 

  • Degree qualified with over 3 years of relevant and progressively more responsible work experience in similar environment; prior A&H underwriting experience is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with agents, brokers and internal departments
  • Strong verbal and written communications and organization skills
  • Strong analytical and decision making skills
  • Possession of outstanding work ethic and drive for knowledge
