Key Responsibilities:

Citi Investment Management: Investment Sales Specialist, North Asia

The opportunity sits in Hong Kong within the Citi Investment Management (CIM) Sales team of Citi Private Bank.  The role is both a client-facing and internal business development role. Citi Private Bank (CPB) and Citi Consumer Banker have joined hands to deepen our wallet share in the High Net Worth(HNW) client segment ( US$ 10-25 mm net worth). A dedicated team will be set up to offer best-in-class service to this under-served client segment. By having a dedicated team of Bankers, ICs, and Product Specialists, the existing 500+ clients in this segment  is expected to grow significantly in the coming years.  This is a huge growth area for the Bank and provides an opportunity to be part of a new team in a well-established product platform.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Act as the internal wholesaler for CIM platform, working with HNW bankers and investment counsellors to identify opportunities to increase the net sales of discretionary and investment advisory portfolios. This will encompass the full range of investment capabilities offered by CIM
  • Own the AUM and revenue targets as defined under the HNW segment
  • Own the CIM pipeline process for HNW segment, particularly as it focuses on HNW segment
  • Attend client and prospect meetings to discuss and promote CIM solutions
  • Own and support client requests including developing bespoke pitches based on client needs
  • Work with CIM colleagues and Marketing to ensure marketing material remains relevant
  • Oversee the delivery of generic pitches and marketing campaign suitable for HNW segment
  • Provide internal training to HNW Bankers and ICs on the full spectrum of CIM products
  • Provide regular after sales and performance reviews to clients and internal teams on the breadth of CIM solutions and those relevant to them
  • Have a detailed understanding of equity, fixed income and hedge fund markets and portfolio management and the CIM solutions within these
  • Partner with CIM investment teams, CIM sales, the regional Investment Lab, research and product teams to deliver success
  • Work with the CIM team to analyse internal penetration data to identify business opportunities
  • Develop and implement marketing plan to further increase CIM penetration for HNW segment
  • Responsible for advisory to clients and help in the transition of mutual fund assets from GCB to CPB.
  • Work with Product Managers if approval is required from Product Approval Committees for transition of mutual fund assets

Development Value:

The candidate will develop a deeper understanding of discretionary wealth management and the role it plays within a Private Bank. Further, the candidate will broaden their knowledge of key asset classes used within high net worth portfolios, including private equity/debt, real; estate, hedge funds, fixed income and equities. In addition, the candidate will develop their client management and interaction skills.

Knowledge/Experience:

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in an asset management business development and marketing role and/or a wealth management discretionary team. The ideal candidate will also have experience in a client-facing role.

Skills:

The candidate will have proficiency in the standard range of Microsoft Office software. Fluency in Mandarin Chinese language is required.  Fluency in Cantonese/Mandarin will be a positive for this role.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree and potentially some further higher educational qualification such as a Master’s degree. The possession of the Chartered Financial Analyst designation will be seen as a positive.

Exceptional candidates who do not meet these criteria may be considered for the role provided they have the necessary skills and experience.
